Violetlight chapter 9 . 3/31 I always thought there was more to Smaug's story than it seemed. And, like you, I hate to see a dragon have an unhappy ending. Thank you for bringing justice to one of literature's greatest dragons! I think Tolkien himself would have been proud of the peaceful resolution you brought to Smaug, Bilbo, and the dwarves. Thank you for sharing! |
Flickyface chapter 9 . 4/15/2019 We don't actually know if it was near the end of Bilbo's life when he left the Shire in LotR. He could it was almost a year before Frodo came back, having destroyed the Ring. Then he stayed in Rivendell for the next year before reaching 131 years of age and going to meet Bilbo. Then the two of them sailed away to Valinor and we don't know how long he lived after that. So it might only have been halfway through his life for all we know, although that is unlikely given how 'sleepy' he was at the end of Lord of the Rings. |
Verdauga chapter 9 . 11/26/2018 Bravo, it was fantastic. |
Verdauga chapter 8 . 11/26/2018 I cry. |
Verdauga chapter 5 . 11/26/2018 I love it all. |
Cheetachan chapter 1 . 8/24/2018 This was a wonderful read, I'll have to check out some of your other stories. |
earthdragon chapter 9 . 8/17/2018 I like this very much. I love dragons and always felt rather sorry for poor old Smaug. He didn't even get a fair representation in the Hobbit films, as PJ chose to show him as rather dull in colour, whereas in the book, he was described as having an underbelly glistening with all the gems he had laid on for so long that they become part of him. At least he was given a cultured intelligent personality. It's unusual to see a story that gives a happy ending to Smaug, particularly given the bad things he did. I am sorry that Fili and Kili still died though, as they were such enjoyable characters. This was very well written and a total joy to read. |
Dragonrider's Fury chapter 9 . 8/18/2018 Great job! I loved every word of this story! I hate to see such a good story come to a close, but I suppose all must end some time. Now, if only there were other dragons in Middle-Earth you could do something like this with. :) Excellent work! I'll look forward to any future stories you might post. :-D |
Dragonrider's Fury chapter 8 . 8/18/2018 That... was beautiful. And awesome! I loved Smaug's "fancy, impractical armor" line! XD Nice job! You wrote the battle quite well. Keep up the good work! :-D |
thearizona chapter 9 . 8/17/2018 Sad to see this go cause I really enjoyed it. And for some reason this chapter hit me in the feels, I think mainly cause of my love for LOTR so seeing you tie everything together just somehow brought joy to my heart. Dude, you rock and are amazing. You did an amazing job with this story and I can’t wait to see what you move onto next! For the last time on this story, Until next time, Keep up the super amazing work! |
Noctus Fury chapter 9 . 8/17/2018 Congrats on the 1000 views! You deserved every one! Sad how all stories must come to an end. But I enjoyed this chapter immensely! I loved how Bilbo tricked Smaug into having his portion of the gold, leaving only a little for himself. Very clever. I also loved how Smaug was finally able to have a mate of his own and have hatchlings. I hope that Smaug isn't the last one. I'm glad that Smaug was able to reunite with Bilbo again. It was very sweet! Thank you for taking the time to writing this and sharing this with us. I know that writing in Tolkien's style is difficult. Which is why I'm not going to be writing many LOTR fanfics. The poems and one-shot that I wrote is as close as I could do it in Tolkien's voice. You've done a splendid job writing this story and having Smaug as a good dragon, rather than the bad one that he was in the original story. And you've done it all realistically and plausible without any conflictions or contraditions to Tolkien's work. Congratulations! Hope to see you in another journey. Noctus Fury chapter 8 . 8/15/2018 Wow! This was very well done! I really enjoyed the battle. Another reason that Smaug should've considered, besides paying debts to the Dwarves and the Dalians, is that if the Goblins win, then he'll lose his mountain to them, and he'll no longer have a place to woo a mate. Seeing Bilbo riding a dragon as Smaug just burns swarms of Goblins into a crisp was very entertaining! lol XD I was laughing so hard when I read the reactions of everyone else after the battle when they saw Bilbo jump from Smaug. It was so hilarious! It was very beautiful when Thorin made his amends with Bilbo and Smaug. Very touching. I wonder what'll happen now? See you in the next chapter, my friend! _ Noctus Fury |
Nightingale chapter 8 . 8/11/2018 Will you go on to tell how the War of the Ring would have gone with this Smaug the Golden? I would love to read that. I recently got back into the Lord of the Rings again and this fanfiction was written just in time! Chapter Eight is both the best and the worst - it is by far the best chapter of Wicked Worm, but the fact that it ends here - as of now - that, Cke1st, is by far the worst part. Let this be a beginning, not an end. The beginning of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, with Smaug on the right side this time. And perhaps we shall encounter a reborn Ancalagon the Black, also on the side of good this time, eh? Perhaps he didn't want to serve Melkor/Morgoth. Perhaps he was mind controlled? Regardless. No matter where you decide to take this story, I know that it will be wonderful. Because you wrote it, and you are undeniably the greatest of all writers of Fanfiction. Good luck and safe travels, in both the world and your mind-created universes. |
Cheetachan chapter 8 . 8/12/2018 This is a very interesting version of the story. If it is not complete, I hope to read more soon. |
VigoGrimborne chapter 8 . 8/11/2018 Now I am simply envisioning Smaug giving Bilbo a lift back to the Shire. Something tells me Gandalf's dragon fireworks wouldn't be so impressive after that. |
