I love the story so far keep it up. I like how you making Toshiro doing more creative things in battle instead of completely relying on powerups to beat characters like Ichigo does. His se of his tail in Bankai form in battle is underutilized in the show. He only his it once and that is it.
What about Toshiro's family? He hasn't had any interaction between his family throughout the story other than flashbacks with him and Momo.

I say go for the filler story, if only so that this fic will have more material when all is said and done.

As a big Toshiro fan, this story is like a dream come true. The first chapter wasn't that good but it really picked up after that. I loved details like Toshiro binding Renji with kido instead of getting a random power-boost out of nowhere like Ichigo did the first time they fought, or his electrifying his sword the second time they met. I wonder if that wasn't forshadowing the lightning powers you gave Toshiro later. Also Renji using his sword's abilities creatively in that fight by hitting the ground and spinning Toshiro around, The back and forth with Uryu during the rescue arc, having the head captain still want to execute the ryoka after Aizen's betrayal, having Urahara actually called out on his bs.

Really looking forward to seeing where this goes from here since Urahara can't tell Orihime to stay out of things without breaking Toshiro's ultimatum, and since she's already training with Rukia and Chad there's no reason for her to go to the Soul Society like in the original.

Hope toshiro gets control over lighting perhaps cero looking forward to toshiro and tier crossing blades again.
