Borello chapter 2 . 6/7 the story is really good. i hoped to read more chapter. |
Guest chapter 2 . 4/21 Good story and an interesting concept. Although, first of all, there's no actual 'No Killing' policy in DC comics, that is something strictly made up for the cartoons and fanfics, the latter usually to demonize the Justice League. The League has actually killed on MULTIPLE occasions, I think the only ones whom have anything near a 'No Kill Policy' are the Flash, who's a cop, and the Green Lanterns, but the latter imprison their enemies in space, even Batman has killed on occasion, however his situation is a bit delicate, because he lives in a city where the mayor, Arkham warden, and criminals seem to be in bed with one another. Officially, GCPD has standing orders to arrest Batman for being a vigilante, but kind of ignore him if he doesn't cross the line. However in one arc there was an instance, I think it was Scarecrow, faked his death and pinned it on Batman, and the GCPD including Gordon were forced to hunt him down relentlessly because of public outcry. He also has to think about others, he is Bruce Wayne, if he were to be caught, he would be unmasked, and everyone associated with him would pay the price, including the THOUSANDS of people whom work for him. If you want proof the JL isn't above killing their enemies, read the Cry for Justice arc, the JL sent Green Arrow to assassinate Prometheus AFTER they let him go for helping them, but since the bastard was responsible for Will Harper and Cheshire's daughter's, Lian's, death, they sent Green Arrow to take him out after promising to let him go, and Green Arrow shot him through the head, like a f***ing savage! On that note, Green Arrow has killed a lot of people, often in the most savage and brutal way possible, he beat one guy to death with his bare fists and stabbed some 'Deliverance' wannabe hillbilly for trying to rape Canary, and he did it with an arrow in his hand... savage! Too bad they made him look like the gay love-child of Peter Pan and Robin Hood. Secondly, it actually wouldn't be hard for Naruto to tempt the girls to his side. Artemis Crock, in comics, she's actually a villain, but even ignoring that fact, even in the show, her loyalty was shaky in the first season, and I really think the only reason she joined was to get back at her old man. I also don't think it was a coincidence, given how she grew up in poverty and with locked-up parents, that the show version was actually made as a cross between the comic Artemis Crock along with Marianne and Mia Drearden, the third Speedy, both off whom were street kids turned prostitutes with the latter having AIDS, I'm pretty sure Artemis had to turn a few tricks to survive. Surely her and Naruto could have connected over a shitty childhood and shitty fathers. Barbara Gordon actually became quite resentful of Batman in the comics as well, although she still dons the Batgirl costume, it is more out of the name she's built behind it than idolizing Batman like she did in the beginning. She became especially resentful of Batman after the Killing Joke, which is why she put together the Birds of Prey instead of working exclusively with Batman as Oracle, but I think how you've depicted Naruto getting to her is probably the best way. Miss Martian was actually ostracized in the New Earth continuity, pretty harshly too, I mean she threw a pie in Ravager's face and the Titans treated her like she murdered someone. In reality Miss Martian was only with the Titans for a few months before going into self-imposed exile in Australia and aside from a few instances helping out a single member of the Titans, she wasn't heard from again until Brightest Day and then it was her getting her ass beat by another Martian until J'onn saved her. In Prime Earth, she's only mentioned by Lex Luthor and not associated with anyone, not even J'onn, so really all it would take is someone accepting her to gain her loyalty. And Starfire... not only is she childishly naive and friendly, but in one of the continuities, she had actually been a sex slave prior to coming to Earth, so how you depicted her isn't far from how she was in the comics. Additionally because Starfire comes from a race where 'taboos' like nudity and sex were social norms, along with her former sex slave status, she too was treated like an outcast by the Justice League, that's why in the comics, the Titans basically became independent from the League because of the suspicions they cast on Raven and Starfire, who in Nightwing's mind, were unquestionably loyal. On that note, there's also the boys. Wally West, whom is more infamously known as the third Flash rather than Kid Flash is definitely not afraid to put his enemies in the dirt for good, unlike his predecessor. Dick Grayson may be averse to killing, but he is NOT Bruce Wayne's little pet, people seem to forget all the conflict he's had with his mentor as Nightwing, and in truth he had some of the same grudge as Speedy, seeing himself as easily replaced by numerous other sidekicks, but instead of groaning about it like Speedy, Grayson became his own men, his dedication to Batman in the show is highly exaggerated. Speedy... yeah, his whining about not being on the JL is annoying, but in reality, when he became Red Arrow, he was a savage. The only reason he toned down was ironically because of Cheshire, but after the death of Lian... you did NOT want to be on his bad side. While he avoids killing, he's NOT afraid to cripple his opponent, for good if necessary. Kaldur'ahm was actually a minor antagonist in the comics, because he IS Black Manta's son, however he turned good when he thought Aquaman sacrificed himself to protect him, but even then, Kaldur as the temporary Aquaman made Prime Earth Arthur Curry look cheerful. Lastly Superboy... nuff said. Superboy is Superboy and his nasty temper knows no bounds, especially when those he cares about are hurt, in the comics, he's viciously protective of Donna Troy (his girlfriend in the comics as Miss Martian was never in Young Justice) and Kara (Supergirl), and I don't doubt, if someone hurt either of them, Superboy would utterly destroy them. Just pointing all that out, because I really don't see a point in demonizing the JL and making the bad-guys out to be heroes over some stupid cartoon troupes. Like I said, the 'No Kill Policy' and the side-kick's fierce loyalty is something played up for cartoons because they're meant to appeal to children. Unlike Japan who tries to be somewhat loyal to the source material regardless of the audience, America lets their foolish 'values' get in the way and try to make a kids cartoon out of source material never meant for kids in the first place. |
Reader chapter 2 . 2/26 Amazing waiting for the next chapter |
Reader chapter 1 . 2/26 Great first chapter |
Sage of the Azure Phoenix chapter 2 . 2/1 Interesting. A tad dark, but overall not bad. This is a possible suggestion, but you could have Selinda/Shimmer and Tuppance as Naruto's bodyguards, with both being cousins since Shimmer has the Uzumaki red hair, while Tuppance has some of the same ticks Tsunade has. |
