I ain't gonna lie, I initially skipped over reading this when I originally got updated with it, I can see now that was a mistake. After reading all of this, the only thing that would've genuinely put a stick up my ass is Adam. It's like he magically gains fucking Jojo powers and powerdrives Six's entire team... somehow. That's an easy thing to fix though, as with a whole massive battle falling around them, it would've been just as easy to have them die in other ways.

I see a lot of deeply fascinating parallels between what happened with you and Grimm retreat and what happened with me and my story, The Men From Onyx. I had a lot of problems with my original cut (a goliath 273k word mess), cast it into the void as you so aptly put it, and am now working on a rewrite that I am FAR happier with. I don't think I'll end up ditching my story, regardless of how disenfranchised I become with RWBY, my story arguably fucks with the core concepts of the show even more than yours does (bear in mind, you literally made Remnant just futurized Earth, so that should give you some meaningful perspective), and I like to think I've done a good job at making it my own thing.

Actually the more I think about it, the more I realize just how close the connections between your story and mine are, the more I realize there's a lot of unusual paralells. While my story is a very Sci-Fi Military Drama oriented, some of the same general "things" happen (I can't actually tell you outside of a PM, because my readers are voracious when it comes to hunting down spoilers. I mean ffs they even found my damn google docs). But seriously, I would love to discuss it with you sometime.

That being said, I'm also interested in reading this other story you mention, "The Rise of Pulsar Company", so I'll get to that.

This final “chapter”(more of a plot outline if you will) in my honest opinion was... not very good. It was written well but felt... cliche I guess, predictable? Errr not quite sure what to call it.
