This was very interesting! I don’t remember much about the prequel trilogy, but I do remember I did NOT like Mace Windu, and Anakin’s perspective is probably why. Seeing things from his POV and how he’s forced to change and compensate for Anakin’s slave-mentality is, again, very interesting and really opens up the Star Wars world and helps us see them all as real people instead of two-dimensional good or bad characters. Great job!

I’m glad I didn’t find your series sooner. I’d have hated waiting for the next chapter/installment. But man, oh, man - I’ve been trying to wrap up the final chapters of my trilogy for a year and simply can’t commit to anything I’ve had the time and creative energy to churn out. So, I get it.

I laughed out loud when you said you had difficulty with endings (I think in an A/N in “Hindsight Is Not Perfect”?). That’s really my problem. Knowing it’s really the end - no more sequels - makes me... hmm... melancholy? Well, a lot of things. I think you get my gist.

Sure, I’m proud to be completing my very first non-professional writing of my life (since elementary school, anyway - and that was a “few” decades ago). But as George Lucas said, we live with these characters for years in our heads. They are, in a sense, real to us. Right?

Siiiiiiiigh... Well, I have today off. I think I might jump into your “Obi-Wan goes dark” adventure...

Fantastic series so far.
It's so unfortunate that even our world has elements of it.
Hopefully now more people are aware about their sad condition by reading this fic.

I early liked this, I think Mace seeing 'this side' if Skywalker is a good thing it will help him understand as well. Great job

Oh, Anakin got to talk to his mother! And I'm very happy that it was Mace Windu who was the one to be present during that conversation. It's nice that Shmi still married Cliegg, now they have more time together. And we got to see a little Owen! I wonder if the Larses will make more appearances in the story. The conversation about deserving to live and such is indeed nothing you would expect from a child, but Mace seems to throw it all on Anakin's childhood past. Which is fine for now. Anyway, this was a very sweet and interesting story.

Great work, my friend! It was a very emotional and monumental chapter, and very important for Anakin's peace of mind. He will still need to take some action to prevent his mother from being kidnapped by the sand people in a few years, which could still happen if nothing is changed. For the sake of Anakin's mental state, his mother needs to survive this time around, as that event was a major reason for his later fall to the dark side. After all it was because of that vision coming true that made him so paranoid about his vision of Padme's death. He didn't want history to repeat itself. Also, some of the things you mentioned about people in severely abusive households having similar mindsets to slavery, I wonder if the situation of Harry Potter qualifies, as his relatives were very abusive and treated him very much like a slave, even being forced to live in the cupboard under the stairs since he was a baby, as if he wasn't even human and didn't deserve to have the basic rights of one. It certainly changed his way of thinking from an ordinary person, made him almost suicidally reckless and not believing his life to have any worth.

Best story. I love your Anakin, I have since the first time I read Dangers of Foresight, and this story simply further proves why; your character interactions are amazing. The biggest issue with the prequels was how stilted some of the dialogue was, but yippy make them come alive on the page. I am so glad you are continuing, and I can't wait to keep reading as it keeps unwinding!

I do enjoy getting the Jedi to see other POV and realizing that there are other ways of thinking (more than in an intellectual since that is).
