One small point. As UNSC ship/fleet doctrine seems to revolve more around 18th and early 19th century British and US naval doctrine (dreadnoughts, cruisers, destroyers and frigates as main combatants with carriers being secondary combatants) a rear admiral would be in charge of a task group or task force and would not command his own ship. A captain would command and fight the ship itself while the rear admiral would direct the fleet.

S.H.I.E.L.D believes that they have a major and potential concern on their watch but since nonother than the Master Chief himself is soon to be entering the fray, they haven't seen nothing quite yet.

I'm predicting carnage beyond recognition.
