Harry definitely made the right choice. Molly is such a control freak and I would never want to choose her to be anyones mother!

This was rather rude of Molly. I get that that's the point, but imagine if someone told her to choose between Harry and Ron then villified her for choosing Ron. Harry might be like a son, but Ron is her son, so it's not exactly Sophie's Choice for her. Besides, anyone who expects you to choose between them and another, 'it's either me or them', well if they're willing to do it once they're willing to do it more times, so even if Harry did choose Molly it's likely she wouldn't stop there. Hell she'd probably expect him to favor her over Arthur, she might even go so far as to expect her own children to love her more than their father. I don't know what would come from this, if anything, but if this version of Molly is petty enough to take it out on Harry later on, then she's only proving she doesn't deserve to be the right choice.

I love this fic for examining Molly's out-of-line behaviour in OOTP but not automatically demonizing Ron and the other Weasleys!

I've just read the character read for this, and I must say: this is written very well. While I don't think Molly was in character most of the time it is implied in the books (and movie) that she is irritated by Sirius' and Harry's relationship. Either way, this is definitely something I enjoyed reading. Though there is a lot of SPaG error, I think Saturnine Spiders fixed most in her character read.

The scene between Harry and Sirius was really heartfelt. I felt that Harry was really in character

I love the Sirius and Harry father/son bond in here, and I like how you've exposed Molly's feelings, I think it would make it even better if you explored their thoughts even more, what they're thinking to each piece of dialogue or even just inner musings :)

I wouldnt really call that bashing. I would say it it was a nice background family moment and it would be nice to see more of them really. There were not enough family moment for Harry in the books.

Awww, i love this. Definitely could see Molly doing this and Sirius is sooo sweet.

I like that Molly is the first to ask if Harry is alright when they come through the door. I've always liked her character, as she's so very loving and concerned with those around her. So seeing her first scene start off like that is a good thing. Very much in character, if I do say so myself.

It's also in charcter for Harry to go to Sirius rather than Molly. I always figured he saw Sirius as a substitute father, so it makes sense that he'd tell him what happened instead of going to Molly despite her caring nature.

It's actually rather sweet the way Sirius comforts Harry, holding him as though he were his own child. It would've been nice to see something like that in the movie.

I loved the first part, it was so sad that Harry never had comfort as a child. I was aware of that but the way you wrote it was like opening my eyes to that fact the first time...

The second part wasn't how I imagine it, but I guess that comes down to interpretation of the characters :'D I agree that Molly would be jealous and want to be first for Harry, but making him chose isn't something I see for her.

I agree that Molly truly grated on my nerves in OOTP, never letting Harry have a quiet moment to himself, (making them spend almost all their time cleaning) and constantly bossing Sirius around in his own home, and butting in whenever he tried to make decisions for Harry or do things with him.
So, thanks for a lovely little gem.
