First Janna now Kelly. Oof. The angst.

I do not like Kelly ... she keeps saying that she wants the best for Marco but at the same time she almost wanted to force him to be with her because she believes that SHE is the best for him.
Talking badly about Star is not the best way to get someone, no matter how true he may be, what he said is still despicable, taking from the table that Marco himself made those decisions ... and go friend by not getting what you want leaves you bounced .
That is to be a bad friend that good Marco rejected it.

Excellent update. Poor Kelly. She puts her heart out there and gets it crushed. If you're Marco, what else can you do though? if he doesn't love her like that, he can't fake being with her. That'd be much worse.

I like your approach to Marco and Higgs too. Maybe now they can become friends or at least not enemies.

Oh Marco. You are still hung up on Star when all these other beautiful ladies want to be with you. He needs to get his head out of his ass and stop being a doormat.

Anyway, can't wait for more.

Oh, poor Marco, even in victory, he still losses something.

Still though, the tournament was still the highlight. Marco getting up close and personal against Higgs had me worried though. Especially when he lost that first event, but Kelly brought it back, and it brought a smile to my face at seeing everyone be so impressed. And hey, we learned what her last name is!

That ending match though. one V. one. Good to see Marco's more experienced side coming out. Going all Mackie Hand on her.

I feel like Kelly will come around, she just needs to come to the realization that Marco is loyal to a fault.

And Star is feeling the worms of envy creeping up again, wonder how she would've felt had she kept the All-seeing eye going and seen Kelly keeping the best pep-talk to Marco. "To Fight for himself and not for Star".

I wonder how the next meeting between Star and Kelly will go like.

I don't like the sound of that next episode, but if it's Ludo I don't think there's much to worry about... maybe? Now on to the episode here, I'd say my feelings on it are split into about... four things. anticipation, curiosity, exasperation, and finally worry. My anticipation started at the beginning of the story with Marco and Kelly at the tournament and Star and Eclipsa talking. Next came curiosity, this popped up when Eclipsa was telling Star about the nature of dark magic. It's similar to how power is neither good or evil, it depends on how people view it and how they use it. Now my exasperation flared up when Star used the all seeing eye spell to check on Marco; and as I expected, when she saw how happy Marco looked and the fun he was having with someone else that was NOT her she got jealous... again. I don't know why Star and Marco do this to each other; Star should have let her feelings be knows sooner and Marco was so focused on Jackie that he blinded himself and didn't see that he had three girls (Kelly now included) who just as if not way better than Jackie. I'm saying Jackie isn't an amazing character, far from it she seems the most mature out of the cast in her age range. I'm just saying that Star, Janna and Kelly can do things that she can't and Marco is a dam idiot for not fully noticing! Which now brings me to my last feeling, the worry. The last part were Kelly practically poured her heart out to Marco and just like with Janna, he had to reject her feelings because he didn't want to string her along like he did with Jackie. Except unlike with Janna, Kelly had gotten out of a break up with someone and saw that Marco was going through something similar to her. Now I'm going to assume that Jackie knew the reason Marco couldn't let go of the cape wasn't because he missed Mewni, it was because she knew that Marco would miss Star and that he was unaware of the fact that he may have feelings for her and didn't know it yet. Now I'm guessing Kelly knew that fact too; but she also noticed during their time at the beach after Marco had talked to Tad, that he must have realized that he may have those feelings for Star, but she had already gotten back together with Tom(which in my opinion, was just her trying to once again bury her feelings for Marco... this girl is going to end up hurting more people if she doesn't sort herself out. Tom my boy, when that happens, stay strong). Now, Marco may have just lost someone who had his back during his time on Mewni, all because he's willing to let himself be hurt the same way he hurt Star. If your story is anything to go by, I'm praying... actually praying that these two idiots tell each other how they feel come S4. What worries me is the amount of pain their willing to go through to do that, because I recently watched a theory video on YouTube that was based on some lore from the Star vs the Forces of Evil Spellbook, and from what I watched... it's not looking too good for them right now. Overall, a very good chapter and glad to see this story again.

Dammit Marco! You almost had it, but NO! The world would rather see you alone and miserable for the rest of your life than to let you be interested in someone other than your unavailable crush! Now you've lost another love, a friend and a battle buddy who wouldn't ignore you for their own selfish reasons!
At least his reasoning was spot on, but I fear Marco might become next Demeek, minus being royalty and married of course :(
I liked the portrayal of the contest, lots of good action and detailed scenes! Glad to see Marco score a win against all odds, but how long will it take him to fully embrace what Kelly drilled in him?

Well, that was a tragic end to a friendship. Hope Kelly comes around!

I loved this chapter! I've already re-read this so many times, I basically memorized the lines, lol. Will you be doing specials like these for other queens, like Solaria?

Hey, just found your story and I am liking it. You were not kidding about the shipping stuff, Geez, I'm having a hard time following with who this and love that. My head feels like it's going to explode.

I've really enjoyed this story so far. The character drama is definitely a highlight for me- and I've really enjoyed the overarching plot so far. This chapter, in particular, was a lot of fun, 'cuz it had a sense of fun and adventure to it that really reminded me of some of my favorite episodes of the show.

Each chapter has been full of great character moments, and I've really appreciated it. I've especially enjoyed Marco's arc in all this- as it really hits upon the themes and emotions that I felt went mostly unexplored in Season 3. I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes next for him.

As for Star, I'm really enjoying your take on her journey thus far. And I'm really curious to see how things are going to pan out for her. Don't be afraid to deviate from what happens in the show- I'd love to see you take things in different directions.

As for the Starco of it all... So far, the relationship between Star and Marco has seemed rather distant. Almost strained. They both seem to be holding things back from each other, and not really 'connecting' in the way they used too. It's a great reflection of how their relationship felt at around this time in the show. And I'll be very interested to see how you start to resolve that.

Overall, this has been a really fun story to read. And I'm really excited to know that we'll be seeing Kelly again in the next 'episode'- she's one of my favorites.
