When I saw this story in my inbox I was like "... sequel?! ALREADY?" Turns out it was something even better! A ONESHOT BEFORE THE SEQUEL!

I love Mari so much, and Mike as well, and to see more of them in any context just fills me with JOYOUS JOY!

I really enjoyed this, and I am happy that Mari was able to be repaired -I was worried that he would have to endure the stitching too... I wonder what happened to him to get him so damaged and thrown in the back alley...

This was amazing! Adorable characters, perfectly written and some Mari cuddling Mike. Perfect!

Well alright! Mari is now a cat, you can’t deny it, a literal alley cat, and makes purr noises into people’s chests, and starts offf slightly mistrusting, and no matter how cute they are you still know deep down they are unholy abominations but they are your unholy abominations goddamit!

but also? could this serve as a AU to CGHA? cause now it raises MORE questions, why was Mari out in the alley, did Fredwill KNOW about Mari being in the alley? Or is it something akin to CGHA's main storyline, how Fredwill wanted the two of them to end up together, which is why he gave Mike the house in CGHA and lets him rummage through the alley in this story?

but seriously Mike's new point of view is so refreshing because everything's completely different from CGHA but he still ends up meeting Mari

omg I'm sluggishly getting ready for bed then Galaxy messages me in the pm saying you posted a story and suddenly I'm filled with energy to get in bed so I can read all comfy.

As you can see I was not emotionally prepared.

First big question throwing it out there. So I guess this would be like an alternative to CGHA? Maybe? Yes no maybe so? Idk?!

Ok timeline, storyline, theorie mess asside I was not ready. Ok you know what this is harder than reading when Marionette's mask breaks because at least then he just partially shuts off and heals himself.
But NO, instead he's broken in a way he can't fix himself. So we have to see him suffer. My heart hurts. My heart hurt and it still hurts. And yet I know I'll have to read this again to fully get everything so yeah. Looking forward to that.

You little sly bugger I remember you mentioning a fic about Mike repairing Marionette months ago. I never forgot cuz it sounded interesting but I didn't expect it to be this emotional! Like interesting definitely but jeeze.

I made some weird noise myself when poor Marionette had to be cut open ok. Every time i hold a box cutter or such I'm just gonna get all sad remembering this.

Jesus, i bet he was holding the pillow tighter than me if only because im sure he's stronger than me. My pillow currently won't go back into its normal shape so Mike's must be-nvm no death jokes on a story like this.
Lemme backtrack lol.

This is basically taking the idea of Mike being strangled then having to comfort and help Marionette from CGHA but lessened the strangling down to a spasm in an alley way and multiplied the comfort and help by ONE HUNDRED.

Oh no i just took a moment to think and now my mind has wandered to all these possibilities and let me assure you I love this oneshot and am glad you made it but now I'm also sad that it's a ONEshot.
I'll just let my mind imagine the rest all night it's fine.

But just Marionette in pain like. Nothing hurts worse than that. Like imagine in CGHA when he's angry his music box goes off, when he's sad his music box goes off, even in pain, same for when he's happy, giddy, laughing almost any emotion and it's out of his control allot so imagine. If he's in pain he probs keeps trying to accidentally use his music box but it's broken which only makes it worse which makes him want to make some noise again and it's just a cruel cycle of pain.

BUT WE GET HIS TRILL AND WARBLING AND OH MY GOD NEVER HAVE TGOSE SOUNDS MADE ME HAPPIER.

And he's just as clingy as ever. Ok sad or not cuddly clingy puppet is best puppet ok. Like I know Marionette by his clingyness now. It's just who he is.

So basically i ranted abunch which is how i show my love for this oneshot. Thankyou for writing it and posting it even though it ripped my heart out then giftingly gave it back at the end all wrapped up and better.
