logia fruit users are immune to physical attacks so i would say that Haki would damage the tailed beasts they are made of pure chakra so i would say that Haki could damage them

i think it would have been more interesting if Haku didint die and then he and Zabuza would have joined Doffys (family) and that Vergo would not be in this.
