I don’t want to badger about update frequency, but you are planning on getting through at least book four, yes? You are one year into updating this story, and aren’t even at hogwarts yet. So far you have covered maybe 3 days within 18 chapters. Have you considered compiling multiple chapters together? Your story is mighty ambitious and I’d love to see it through completion, but at this rate...

I always thought that Light and Dark was too binary and unrealistic to be completely true, i guess that affinities and inclinations make more sense ... i guess that to force yourself to be light (kind compassionate accepting friendly forgiving etc) means that underneath that forced shell of "good" the "bad" is forced, compressed and left to sour and rot, resulting in uncontrollable explosions that are furthermore buried, creating a vicious and dangerous cycle

that usage of occlumency seems dangerous to me, to filter and repress feelings and thoughts means they buildup and explode, i always see/compare occlumency to akin of moving meditation, that you need to sense the thoughts/emotions, accept them and let them go, while displaying a blank picture to the outside, not to bury parts of yourself

if, Light or Dark are thought of as parts of yourself that you have to balance instead of suppress makes for a more realistic and accepting approach, like o read somewhere you don't strive for control, but for clarity, to know yourself is to know how you'll react and accept it

the way things are leaning here, the social pressure, the "need" to be "light, "to not feel/think "dark", that unhealthy fixation of Fleur and her magic sounds like a drug that is just placed to destabilize everything further (a RL comparison, think an hallucinogenic drug, it may be a novel experience to a normal person, but if you have mental issues known or not, it can badly crack your psyche)

Harry is likely running full tilt into a wall, at 11 he needed a Fyndfire spell to purge his suppressed "darkness", that by itself is bad, that he felt self-reproached for feeling/needing it is worse, that lily created that wedge or seed of mistrust is BAD and opens way to undesirable influences... it's going to be a train-wreck of epic proportions

i love this fic, just don't fall in the premise that lightgood, darkbad, and that keep in mind that Dark!Harry is not Evil!Harry and you have a fine recepy for a really good fic
