A beautifully written, deeply emotional story! It's either the second or the third time I've read it, but I obviously failed to comment on it before, so it's time to rectify that ;) I love it how Renji restrains himself and goes slow to make sure he doesn't hurt Byakuya, and how his Captain overcomes his own fear and allows Renji to see that vulnerable part of him the world is never meant to see. For them, physical closeness is not a goal, but a means to offer each other something extremely rare and precious. Thank you for this beautiful piece!

Okay onto this. First of all I like how you tied the title into the themes of this. And again I adore your writing style. and this oneshot was lovely and said so much while still being a quick read. I wish mine were like this.

Bya's backstory on his "lesson" is really sad because shit like this happens everywhere in RL and its horrible. But it was really lovely how Renji made him feel beautiful again and healed/worshipped his scars. Turning the source of a lot of pain for Bya into a target for his loving attention.

I admit I was confused until i remembered oh yeah they have sleeping quarters at the office lol.

"You're still beautiful." This. I love.

Bya warring with himself was covered in so few lines but I like the fact you covered it. It's gotta be a hard lesson to unlearn, but Renji will be a good helper with this.

The lovemaking was of course excellent. These two have such a tender dynamic and its always a joy to read. It's a nice touch too how you have Bya think of Renji making love to him. Shows his refinement and emotional connection there. Well done.

Your way of writing is amazing. Its taken me a while to really see this, and I appreciate it that much more now. You have Byakuya and Renji so perfect and both are so wonderful. I actually love how sad Byakuya is. His story is so tragic. I want to hug him and take care of him like Renji did. The sexiness is so nice. I feel its understated in the way you wrote it.
