It's the beginning of a touching and intimate story where obviously bits of the past mingle with the dilemas of the present. What I really like are the elements you added here, it gives yet an impression of depth that I was looking for desperatly for this character, I'm just fond of Miss Gullet. The fact her fanaticism for health and safety may had taken root of a post-traumatic event, the fact Geraldine is a mother here and lost her beloved... that was so sad... that she loves the children of others to such point her devotion to safety bring her inner maternal impulses make her fork towards a thorny path. Also making Gullet a nerdy astrophiliac is as beautiful as her other character's traits. I look forward to look for more! And I wonder if you actually plan to incorporate in the story how Geraldine met little Flappy that'd be ever so sweet and interesting
