It's definitely realistic in the way you can choose whether to connect to your soulmate and in the way Lily and James react to each other. I feel like in a lot of fics, for someone to be considered comparably smart, they only make someone good at STEM. I like that Lily is also an equally successful doctor. She doesn’t need his money or anything. (I feel like I should admit that I’m studying engineering professionally, I just dislike STEM snobbery.) The entire premise of soulmates feeling each other’s injuries was great, too. I did laugh when Sirius stabbed himself. It was interesting that Lily never hurt herself, but I think if she had it might have caused too much unnecessary drama. But oh boy, when Harry is born James is gonna receive some serious karma. I also died when James “choked out” something like “fuck yes it’s okay” at the end of chapter three. I could really feel the tension from your writing. Overall, I just enjoyed all of it :) |
