It’s strange, isn’t it, how the smallest things can show so much. Merely the length of time in which a meal is consumed putting on display the tenuous remnants of a marriage on the verge of collapse. Even in the face of ‘putting on a front’, Mary can’t miss the signs that her world will never be the same again.
