Reviews for Vow
inquiete chapter 1 . 6/2/2019
Gods, I love this (not that you're surprised.) I love the large amount of character growth you packed into this short story, I love how we see an intermediary point between June when Lucifer first recruited her and the present day Doll we all love, and I love how she was simultaneously right on the money but so very wrong-Agent and God DID manipulate and use her to get her to Fall, but Cora had nothing to do with it. Personally, I find the situation with June and Cora so fascinating because they're both equally innocent and guilty in this scenario. They both were used (Agent used June, and June used Cora), but also at fault (June manipulated those around her-even people she cared about-to get what she wanted, and Cora refused to stand up for June because she was scared of being associated with her-and thus be kicked out with her.) The whole situation is peppered with so many lovely shades of grey just like our beloved Carnival. But, of course, we've discussed this before so I'm not saying anything that surprises you.
