This is great! I really enjoyed it. The Professor Layton series was my first love, and my heart had plenty of room for more when I played the crossover game, where I met Phoenix and Maya.

I like the idea that the voice of the English gentleman's heart is in song. It befits his character, for certain, to be sure. It makes sense that Layton, being a famed professor at the renowned Gressenheller University, would have contacts at many institutions, including law schools. He would be the ideal man for Phoenix to send his young protegée.

I enjoyed how you depicted Athena Cykes and how she reacted to the tumult of the voices around her in London, and of course her interaction with Widget. As for Luke, it’s always a treat to see him!

Keep up the good work!

Wow, this is a BEAUTIFUL fanfic! It’s not only really interesting but it’s also quite heart-warming! You have the Professor’s character nailed, Luke’s character spot on and Athena’s character down pat! And it’s intriguing how the Professor’s heart sings rather than speaks and not only that but it’s a brilliant little idea of yours.

I’m favouriting this!

I'm not incredibly familiar with the Ace Attorney series (I've only seen the anime and have very limited knowledge of the rest of the games) but this was a joy to read! You definitely captured the Professor and Luke perfectly, and the interactions between them and Athena are lovely! And on the subject of Athena, the subtle introduction to her ability was very nice, and I like how it fit with each character! This whole story was very nice :)
I'm glad you wrote for Professor Layton, and I really hope there's more to come!

This is fantastic, Candy! As someone who has never played a single Layton game and has only watched one episode of the Phoenix Wright anime (*self smacks self and tells self to watch the anime already*), I've got to say that you did a masterful job of explaining Athena's power in a way that even those unfamiliar with the games' universe could understand.

But my favorite part, as always, has got to be the way you describe the setting and characterization. You dropped us right into London with the opening narration - I could see and hear the bustle that Athena saw, and feel her emotions about it just from the description - and captured Layton's calm, Athena's pep, and Luke's enthusiasm from their first speaking lines. I especially loved it when Athena jumped out of her chair in excitement, and when she and Luke both got to prattle on about their special abilities. Hershel's enduring calm is the perfect foil to the both of them.

*cough* also Layton being a proud dad *cough* *COUGH*

Anyway, this was cute and fluffy and well-written and WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN IN THE NEXT CHAPTER OF SDLPC sorry got a little carried away there...cute one-shot! I loved it! Cheers!
