Really liked the chapter! Poor Faramir especially when everyone was avoiding telling him how his father died, glad his uncle finally did. Can't wait to read the next chapte since I've been waiting for Faramir and Eowyn's reunion. Keep up the great work and take care.

So sorry for the delay in my review. Things have been pretty hectic at work and I meant to read it later but then forgot. Anyways, liked reading from Eowyn's perspective. Really like she was able to talk to her uncle before they headed to Gondor. Excited to read the next chapter!

I loved the opportunity to see into Faramir's mind again. Oh, the whole episode in darkness was just terrible. Aside from him seeing his mother again, and so beautiful that he was able to hear that one of his parents was proud of him.

And you have me worried for Boromir again. I know that in the film at least, none of the main characters that we've been rooting for died, but you gotta admit that Boromir has basically been cheating death this entire time. Don't get me wrong, I -want- him to continue cheating death. I'm just worried about your plans for him.

I can see it taking a while for Denethor's death and the events surrounding it to take a few hours, days, maybe even weeks, to actually process. Just watching what happened is nightmarish and almost unreal. Hopefully once it does sink in, he will be surrounded by his family and friends who can hold him and comfort him as needed.

Oh, he's seen Eowyn. She doesn't look to good. But we can all look forward to listening in on hers and Faramir's conversation in the future. :-)

Just thought I would mention that there have recently been a few stories on a similar theme - of Faramir joining Boromir in the Fellowship. I have to say, though, that yours is definitely the best.

Actually, I think Faramir is very much in character. Being the more serious of the two brothers, it is very like him to blame himself for anything that goes wrong. Given the cause of his injuries, he was hardly likely to wake up smiling and joking. He has seen his men killed as a result of that fruitless mission his father sent him on and blames himself for their deaths, even though he could not disobey Denethor's orders. On top of that, as well as suffering the after-effects of black breath, he is in a great deal of pain from his injuries, some of which were caused by his own father. Despite that, he is devastated to learn of his father's death before they were able to make peace with each other. It's hardly surprising though that his actual reaction to the fact that his own father tried to burn him alive has been muted. Faramir is obviously in shock (and who wouldn't be at such news?). It will probably hit him when Denethor's funeral is held. The fact that Boromir is alive has, I think, helped him cope with Denethor's grisly end. I know that Imrahil and his sons survived the battle in Mordor; I just hope that Boromir does too, as I'm not sure how well Faramir would cope with losing his beloved brother.

I loved this view of Eowyn. You did an awesome job capturing her character and her emotions during battle. And for the record, sometimes the greatest heroes, are the ones who are the most afraid yet still perform the task set before them. (Guess I've heard the phrase "courage isn't the absence of fear" but the overcoming of it for the right reasons, so many times, it just feels natural that great heroes would experience fear.) Not to mention, I think that anyone who -doesn't- get scared on the battlefield are at least in the minority, if not bordering on inhuman.

Anyway, enjoyed seeing Eowyn defeat the Witch King. Looking forward to seeing Faramir again. And might we see a reunion between Faramir and Eowyn next chapter? Or, will that be another one or two chapters? Either way, looking forward to reading it. :-)

Thought the chapter was well done and it was nice to see so many perspectives within one chapter. Looking forward to reading the next one and cannot wait to see Eowyn and Faramir's reunion (hopefully in the next chapter). Keep up the great work as always and take care.

This was a fantastic chapter, made all the more impressive by the superb way you handled four new and entirely different POVs.

Reading through Denethor’s section was by far the most interesting because of how twisted his mind was by that point, and I think you did an excellent job rationalising how exactly he came to the decision to burn himself and Faramir alive. Riveting stuff.

I also enjoyed what you did with Imrahil and Pippin, and I got a good chuckle out of Pippin describing his ideal death. It made way too much sense, and fit his character perfectly. As for Imrahil, I loved hearing about how close he was to his nephews. I’ve always enjoyed his portrayal in the books, even if he only showed up a few times, so it was nice to see that expanded upon.

Aragorn’s section was okay, if a bit bland, at least compared to the others. I don’t know exactly how his healing works, but the way in which he brought Faramir back seemed way too easy and anticlimactic. Perhaps their conversation in Faramir’s mind could’ve been extended a tad, possibly with Faramir showing a little more resistance?

But that’s just a minor gripe, and it didn’t dampen my enjoyment of the chapter as a whole. I’m looking forward to the next one.

I think you did a remarkable job. I enjoyed your take on these characters and watching the battle of Minis Tirith and the aftermath through their eyes.

I liked how you portrayed Aragorn's healing of Faramir. So awesome that Faramir merely needed to be reminded of Boromir and/or be assured of his brother's survival for him to pull out of the darkness.

I am looking forward to Eowyn's side of the tale, and hopefully she and Faramir seeing each other in the chapter after that.
