I don't know how you make me feel sad and happy too. I really love that scene between Kanan and Hera because it shows how her dedication to the rebellion affected her relationship with Kanan. And like always is a pleasure to read Jacen and Hera stories.

We all think that we have time and that other things are the important ones, until there is no time left for what really matters.
And it is bittersweet that Kanan seemed preoccupied. I don't say that he knew at that moment what was coming, but he, at least, knew that the time was limited and life must be lived.
As always when you write the two of them, they feel perfect together, At the same time, it is so motherly of Hera to worry about her child, and yet I love that, in the end, she understands and accepts that she can't worry from now for things that will come and can't be avoided.

Hmmmm...this is giving me some inspiration for an older Jacen (maybe late teenage years) going through some trouble, and it builds and builds until he admits, brokenly, that he wants his father.

Oh good gravy. That was a lot of emotions to unpack in a short bit of prose. As usual you do the best Hera, but your probably tired of hearing me say that!
