That's a very good metaphor. And the biggest part is, the best way to destroy your opponent in chess is if you can get your queen in the middle of their ranks and clean them out from behind. With Voldemort's bodyhopping, that might well happen.

i dont think Albus is evil hes just old and tired and has enough hubris to think he knows more than everyone else, cannon beh Pottmore doesnt do it for me, a lot of makes no sense or retcon. really she didnt like HP and Ginny being close so she changed his grandparents, really. whatever. your interpretation of runes and arithmancy works for me
