WOW! I have to say this is the best story I've read about yugioh. Well Done! Loved every chapter. I know what it's like to have characters take it and run.

I absolutely love the characterization of every character in this story, especially the cards. If only more stories like this one were written, I'd be in heaven!

This is the first story I find that has both Mahaad and his Red Dark Magician counterpart Akai in the same plotline. Akai has alot of potential to develop as a card, something I've ached to see in action for years, and I was delighted to see how he progressed among Yugi's cards as your story carried on. I'm glad I stumbled on your story, as it is it is the best one I have found while browsing through the Dark Magician Tag on ffnt. I only bemoan that there are no more chapters to read about this wonderful story, and no sequel that I know of that would follow the adventures of Yugi, his human friends and duel monster friends. Truly, if you ever find yourself itching to write Yu-Gi-Oh fanfics again, I hope you will consider continuing this one. This is a masterpiece with lots of potential awaiting to be uncovered.

One thing I've silently itched to see as I read your story, was to see the look on Kaiba's face when Yugi summoned not one, but -two- Dark Magicians to the field, and because both Mahaad and Akai have a name, seeing them purposely respond to it rather than their card titles (and perhaps behave a bit outside of their holographic programming as a prank?) in battle would have been hilarious, and enough to leave Kaibe seriously wondering whether Yugi's duel disk (or worse, his own technology) had gone broke. Alas Kaiba never showed up to duel Yugi, but it was fun nonetheless to see Yami battle Joey. The light banter between those two as they summoned their cards, left me grinning for a good while.

I like the relationship you portrayed betwen Mahaad/Yugi/Yami/Mana/Akai, and Everon/Shellenve. Despite Akai's belief that he'll forever be number 2 as a Dark Magician, and Yugi being obviously very attached to Mahaad, Akai's insertion into the deck did not make me feel as if he was a third wheel, despite Mana's best efforts to reject the newcomer. Rather, I feel like the second Dark Magician completed the deck. Yami has his spellcaster Mahaad (both 3000 years old and trapped spirits), and Yugi, resembling Yami, also gained a very similar Dark Magician, Akai (both scarred from former abuse at the hands of man). I think master and duel monster fit each other wonderfully. There is certainly enough room for empathy between them all.

Anyhow, thank you for writing and publishing this wonderful story. Also, thumbs ups for the names you gave the cards. I liked Celtic Guardian's name Celedon alot, and Shelleene's was just irresistible. There are not enough Kuriboh cuddles with Yami/Yugi on this site, so thank you for all the times the little furball went and gave them some love! b

is there a part three :? one where Yugi gets back into his body?

I honestly think Yugi has some type of magic he got from the pharaoh, but just doesn't know how to use it, especially since The pharaoh uses it a lot. basic wise he can see monsters, things no one else can, has a connection to Yami where they duel as one being; with both their minds and souls, but Yugi's heart and strategy and Yami's power and courage, use his puzzle to break barriers, and can sense danger (well later in the series). though that ability you gave him does make sense along with restrictions; unless he's in an ordinary duel or most contests (ones that don't involve dark magic or danger like with Pegasus panic and marik, and etc.) he unknowingly has an ability to draw the right card, kind of like Yusei's clear mind ability. But its only used as a last resort by his monsters and Yugi has to know how to use it right. that's definiately bring out the literal term heart of the cards and I like it.

Nice story I really enjoyed it.

This is one of the most heart-warming stories I've ever read! I wish Yugi's connection with his cards, as well as each card's own individuality, had been explored like this in the manga/anime. I also love the relationship you created between Kuriboh and Summoned Skull.

Well, if they constantly mess with your outline to tease you, that usually means they like you. I should know. In my story, Seth, Atem and Mahaad were constantly messing with my outline and shredding it! So, think of it as a good thing when they're teasing you!

Just one quick thing. In previous chapters, you call Curse of Dragon, "Ashelocke," and in this and the previous chapter, you called him, "Garunon." It's a little confusing, so could you pick one name or the other? Thanks! (and GREAT story!)

Wow! What can I say? I think you pulled this off really well...I don't know why you didn't originally want it to be longer. I'm glad you put more focus in Yugi's deck than the actual characters, though they played an important part as well. I sincerely enjoyed reading about Mahaad's sacrifice and Akai's adjustment.

Just a pointer...I think it might be "Dark Magician Knight" and not "Dark Magic Knight." There might be a Dark Magic Knight, but I wouldn't know. Great job so far...Can't wait to keep reading!
