When did Blake die? It didn't say in the story

I enjoyed your story. It engaged my attention from beginning to end.

The conclusion felt a bit rushed. Jaune seeking revenge against Ironwood... and Ironwood’s idiotic attack that killed Roman both seemed a little contrived. As if you wanted a fall guy to provoke Jaune enough for him to be forced to Salem’s side. Still, it’s just a small complaint. Probably because I like Ironwood, and respect him as a character, and felt you didn’t do him justice. But hey, in your story he’s a jackass. I can deal.

Adam’s attack on Ancel and Jaune’s response to that felt much better to me, but then, Adam is pretty fricking unlikeable, which probably helps. I like how Ghira and Kali were smart enough to keep their people safe when it was obvious what the smart move was to save lives.

The final chapter was a good way of jumping over the interim mess, and I didn’t mind that.

It reminded me of how Salem wanted Ozma to help her rule the world, and how he was a complete idiot who tried to sneak off with their kids and ended up getting himself and their children killed in the crossfire.

I’m not saying Salem wasn’t at fault for her children’s deaths. She should have let Ozma go rather than risk her kids, but Ozma was certainly heavily at fault there as well.

He should have been honest with her from the start and tried to work with her. Sure, Salem was kind of going down a dark path, but Ozma’s betrayal was what made her into a monster. He could have moderated her excesses, been the voice of reason when she grew angry. But instead he ran and got their kids killed in the crossfire.

So having Jaune fix Ozma’s mistake by taking Ozma’s place at Salem’s side is kind of satisfying. Reminds me of Couer’s White Sheep, and in a good way. Not very many stories write a satisfactory ending to the threat of the Grimm, and this way, of having the heroes end the threat by befriending Salem and being a moderating influence on her is one of the few realistic ways such a threat (ie, a literally unkillable sorceress who commands all the Grimm) could be dealt with.

Sure, in the show they probably have some way of ending her threat that doesn’t include simply making her happy... but they haven’t really hinted at what that might be.

Although, to be honest, I think Ozma asked the relic of Knowledge the wrong question... or rather, gave up to early after learning she simply cannot be killed.

Why not ask, “How can Salem be pacified?” Or “how can I convince Salem to be a force for good?”

Personally I kind of think that while Salem can’t be killed, her power to control the Grimm could probably be removed. She became all Veiny and Grimmlike after diving in the God of Darkness’s pool. She’s kind of part Grimm now. But that wasn’t part of the Brother’s curse. If someone, could, say, destroy the Grimm with a harsh look, maybe they could burn the Grimmness out of Salem? It wouldn’t kill her (because she can’t die) but since being half Grimm isn’t actually connected to her curse of never dying, then nothing says it cannot be removed from her...

Just a thought as to what the actual ending of RWBY might be like. Turn Salem back into an (immortal) human and things suddenly get a whole lot simpler. The Grimm no longer would serve her, so the threat of Salem, say, destroying humanity with overwhelming force goes away. The Grimm, on their own, can actually be held back by the walls and huntsmen and huntresses. Maybe even eventually be defeated, if they have no leadership. But with Salem controlling them, no organized effort to slowly clear the planet of them will ever succeed.

And maybe a more human Salem and Ozma could forgive each other and start working together again? Like adults?

I like how you just doggone wrote Yang out ENTIRELY, lol. Like, barely any mentions, and I don't even think one bit of dialogue XD. Oh well

Please indicate, somewhere, that this is the sequel to Mind Games. It should not be this difficult to find. A notice in the summary would do, or even one in the author's note that explicitly says so, but as it is I just read through the first chapter of every one of your stories searching for the right fic. Maybe indicate the name of the sequel in the announcement chapter found in Mind Games.

Kind of sad it ended but happy to read this part, well done good authors, have say it was fun ride, short, but fun

Wow, i have to say if I jad jaune's semblance, i would have done the same to adam, that would kill anyone force to do something while still conscious. Great job twister just splendid.

Not going to lie, reading the part adam killing his mom and sister was hard to read especially when i have vividly image in my head, guess the queen of grimm is going to make a grand appearance on the world stage, cant wait to see how adam deals with this.

Have to say, what ironwood did was pretty much on him, he brought that on himself. Love the way this ended of chapter 18

Not pleased with the ending but at least it has an ending

I want to believe the story ends happily but I think Oz wouldn’t just sit down and take this.

I'm gonna go on a leg here (I think thats the phrase) and say that the utopia peaceful world isn't the peaceful utopia Jaune thinks it actually is, nor does everyone think its great like Jaune thinks they do.
