Hermione studying for her exams is hilarious, I geeked when Harry described her murmuring as otherworldly.

Great chapter, love the crup idea and love that Dolohov is no more. That man was worse than any menace to society.

Lovely start, I truly enjoy your writing style and think your characterization of Hermione is refreshing. SO many people write her as this robotic, emotionless bookworm when her passion and care for others demonstrate this to be far from the truth; she was always on a crusade to save some unfortunate soul in the books and I think you capture that well here so bravo.

Wait, I’m sorry if I missed it, but why hasn’t Hermione gone back for her parents? After Dolohov attacked her and she unconsciously called Crookshanks to her, obviously she wouldn’t be in any shape to find them, but from her thoughts it doesn’t even seem like they are on her mind at all...does she only care about getting Crookshanks back? If she’s going to travel, I’d say finding her parents and returning their memories to them should be her first stop!

Also, I’m glad she’s going to be traveling and discovering instead of joining the Ministry and becoming a glorified pencil pusher! I never thought the Hermione we met in canon would be satisfied with that! She would have been more likely to seek out new things and knowledge and what better way to do that than by traveling the world? I wonder who she’s going to meet on her travels!
