I liked it, but let's be honest: this story is only about the friendship between Zero and X; Ciel's role is so minimal that she might as well be not be there (supplanted by a generic Resistance soldier in her stead), let alone being mentioned on the main title.

In itself, the first half of the story is perfectly fine; the second half has some weird time jumps that make it feel disconnected from the previous paragraphs. Nothing that can't be fixed by some well-placed separation lines.

I was so happy to see a MMZ fic, and this one in particular is lovely. I love how you can tell the friendship between X and Zero and how much they care about each other, even when Zero's memories are gone. My only wish was that there was more to read, but it was short and sweet.

What a lovely read, its a shame there isn't more. Even with subtle actions and words you can really empathize with X. Great one shot!
