I don’t typically leave reviews until a fanfic piece is finished. This means I leave very few reviews at all, so I’d like to make this one count.
Your work has been a fascination for me on multiple levels.
For starters, the material— the clay in your hands. Planet of the Apes is an imaginative idea, especially the new trilogy, but it would be (and had been made) stagnant as fanfic material without the proper dedication, desire, and selfless inspiration driving it. Those things drip from every word in your work (sans articles and a few pronouns which no one but P.G. Woodhouse and his could bring to life, I’m pretty sure).
Secondly, we’ve already touched on it— your talent. The form you’ve given your clay is sweet eye-candy to someone looking for a novel to munch on: You have a great love for your plot, your world-building, and especially your characters. It’s impossible to know your exact intention, but to me it seems you spare no effort giving us an insiders view of how you see the world and story in your own mind; and with it, the appropriate lighting (or cast) to each facet of the story. The grim and painfully tragic tensions, the sunset honeymoon glow of the romance, and the graceful misty fancy that surrounds the entire story, that makes me BELIEVE you grew up loving this world even before you said so.
I’ll trust your judgement when you say the final product isn’t flawless; any criticisms I have are based in stylistic preference, or are too minor to mention. I just wanted to thank you for all your hard work, and to say I sincerely hope to see more from you in this fandom, or at the very least some writing in general that I can gobble up on a cold night in some fancy armchair (even if I have to steal one to make the experience complete). ;)

I'm very very late reading this chaptersorry! Just kept seeing that 14k word count and didn't have the time to wade through it! (I like to read chapters in one sitting.) Very glad to be up to date again, and I think you brought everything together really well. The tension in the confrontation between the brothers was amazing! I'm also really pleased that Slate has finally admitted how he feels!
Just as a slight piece of adviceit'sit is, itssomething belonging to it. Small grammatical error I noticed a few times, especially at the start of the chapter.
I can't wait to see what happens next, and what Slate will do with his new self-knowledge!

oooo, this is interesting... more humans... and I still can't get over Slate's parentage! must have been such a shock to him. Nice to see him and Kriss getting closer though, it's very sweet

awwww, so nice to see Krissa finding a place, and Slate calming down a little. Pine is still Pine :P

I'm not crying, you're crying...

I am so in love with this work, I can't even begin to express it... REALISM! He's conflicted, and she's in trouble, and there's an attack, but people get hurt, and that ripples out, and it's not just her running around saving everyone in an attack of the Mary Sues... she does her best, and then steps back when someone stronger comes in. He acknowledges that she's different from apes. Just... omg, I could go on forever about how I love every sentence in this. Realism... in a fan fic... I'm going to cry with happiness.
(I'm also sooo far behind, but looking forward to catching up!)

Yay another chapter :D! Yea theirs been boiling tension for awhile with Slate and Pune, both Poopy and Slate know their brother is wrong about Krissa and his way of thinking but he's finally realizing now that there's something very wrong with Pine, I mean he has every right to be mad cause Krissa could have been seriously hurt or killed, it seemed Krissa and Slate have developed deeper feelings with each other over the month you can see how Slate reacts and feels around her :) I was really cute when she gave him a kiss making him dumbfounded :3 I wonder what will happen now?

Yay another chapter :D! Krissa is clearly completely destroyed by what happen and Slate takes it out on her...I think he was just angry and frustrated that she put herself in danger and could have died causing him to blurt stuff out with thinking of the consequences, just shows how much he cares for her. Maurice is right not many people would have done what did, I thought it was really heart warming when he brought his head to touch hers :3 and even called her family and friend but think he might have deeper feelings that he doesn't even realize yet :)

I’m gonna confess, I’m so partial to having more canon characters around in POTA stories that I wondered whether I’d enjoy this. But you taught me a lesson! These characters come to life so beautifully and captivatingly; they’re well crafted and consistent, every action in keeping with the types of people we get to learn they are over time. You also describe their surroundings with such detail that I feel completely comfortable falling into the story as though I’m right there watching. Everything feels so alive and personal, from the interactions between the characters, to the Ape culture, to their surroundings and history.
I love this story, and thank you so much for writing! Can’t wait to see where you take it!

It seems Slate is becoming more possessive of her I wonder how that was going to turn out :) it was cute how for bashful when the childern where jumping all over him speacily since Krissa watched him with a smile on her face and there splash fight was cute too :)
Oh no...twig died;.; not only that but Krissa probably watched the whole thing and couldn't do anything to save him...she's definitely going to be traumituzed and probably have extreme guilt...is Must going to blame her are the other apes going to blame her for this or Slate for that matter...

Slate really does care for her dispite being gruff :) but it might take a little while for his darkness to go away, it seems Poppy is the voice of reason for him too cause she knows not all humans are bad and is worried about Krissa's condition, she's very sweet and nurturing , Maurice and Rocket made Cornelius see reason but what will hapen to Krissa now...
