I knew from the ketchup scene at the start of the movie that Zootopia was going to be good, and I knew from the discussion of Judy's writing speed and her level of detail in her reports at the start of this story that it was going to be good too.

But both ended up being so much more than good.

This is such a beautiful story of love. I smiled on many occasions while reading, and it's possible that a tear or two was hustled away from me as well. I wanted to cheer with the other officers in the bullpen when Judy was hired by Nick. An awesome work from start to finish.

Besides the plot, the writing itself was top quality too. Ellipses were used sparingly. Hyphens weren't pretending to be em dashes. Nothing struck me as misspelled or ungrammatical. Everything flowed smoothly. It's clear that you put as much love into writing this as Nick and Judy have for each other.

According to the review counter, this is the 27th review to be posted on this story. But something must be broken—I can't see how my review isn't the 270th. But one number that is accurate is that this story is now only the 18th to be added to my favorites in my nearly ten years on this site.

Go work for Disney, please! You've already written half the sequel!

This was a fun little story. I liked how everything meshed together. Just curious, how long were you two pseudo-dating before getting engaged?

The "naked sleepovers" bit absolutely killed me, it was so funny.

Okay, if you and your husband are anything like the way you've written Nick and Judy in this fic, then you two are ADORABLE AND MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS.

I actually don't usually ship Nick and Judy - I love how the movie leaves it open for you to decide how to interpret their relationship as it stands at the end of the movie, and where it will go afterwards. And I still think that Nick and Judy being best friends and coworkers is just as strong and meaningful as a romance, and is also a story that needs to be told in this day and age. But in the space of this fic, you got me shipping them HARD. You showed how they bring out the best in each other, and why they're perfect for each other. Rather than just being "cute together" (though they are), you showed how they just blossom into who they're meant to be because of each other.

This was adorable, endearing, and inspiring all at once. There were so many times in this fic I found myself beaming because of a turn of phrase or a little unexpected moment. You did a fantastic job with this!

Usually, when a fiction tries to outsmart and hustle me, I can smell it from a mile away.
Not this time. The second job got me good. Like, real good. Props to you, I applaud to you.
