I really like your story. I just read it again. But did you notice that two chapter numbers were missing? The 10 and 11? Which means everything else is out of date.
I saw that Lizzie hasn't regained her normal connection with Jane. Can we assume she feels jealous? After all, she is human. She may be jealous of Lady Blakely. And perhaps also of all the acquaintances she had during her eight years away.
The coming of Mr. Collins does not bode well. I would not be surprised if Lady Catherine ordered him to choose Lizzie as his wife, if only to have her at his mercy. It is to be hoped Mrs Bennet will not see him as a potential husband to her. It seems implausible to me, but one never knows.

I have been reading this story and felt compelled to comment. Your premise of a Darcy/Elizabeth hook up in a Master/Chambermaid station variation is, while intriguing and does imitate life in that there were such hookups in real life and Richardson’s Pamela is all about that. For our couple however, it felt unrealistic given how their canon story is a detailing of the derailment of more finely ingrained class differences. I was willing to give it support however, because the prejudices of class variations are so important to breakdown.

The plot device of using rape to create vulnerability spoiled everything however. I agree with others and learned this on my own as well, when you are inserting a mature theme, especially one that is critical to the plot you need to rate ‘M’.

Sexual assault as a plot device is a delicate issue in P&P since the characters are so familiar yet, at the same time it was a common occurrence no less reprehensible morally and legally as it is today. Many authors write compromise stories and fail to appreciate that compromises in real life included rape so perhaps the fandom needs to reassess that.

I have not read the chapter but the fact that a rape
of Darcy was introduced felt very contrived, as if there were so much class differences between D&E that something absolutely horrendous had to occur to bridge the divide and that it must happen to him, since he was so much higher in status and rape is unquestionably a statement of power and control. That is where my disappointment lay and I don’t think the story is strong enough to a) not trivialise the rape b) bridge the class divide successfully. I do wish you well however in its resolution.

Oh my goodness! I was so caught up in the story that I forgot about Mr. Collins! How that happened I’ll never know. Will he be himself and be brushed aside by the family? Or will he play a role on the more villainous side of things? I can’t wait to see how things go from here!

Well, maybe Lizzy won't be expected to marry that toad Collins. UGH!

I'm sad for all of the family that Six years later, they still don't truly talk about their feelings. I wonder if Lizzy ever was honest in telling her parents about what her life was like as a servant and how people in power manipulated her. And such a perfect opportunity to talk to Jane...but they didn't! I also wonder how the other girls feel about Lizzy's large dowry and inheritance? If Miss Bingley knows about it, they must also. Wouldn't this promote division between the sisters? All for the want of communication!

On boy heaven forbid Mrs Bennet tries to match Elizabeth with Collins. Thanks for sharing your twist.
