Damn, I always love a good Tom Riddle. I always felt that he wasn't truly the root cause of what Lord Voldemort became. Not only did the excess splitting of his soul impair his sanity beyond all reason, but the fact that Albus Dumbledore never could help but see his old friend Gellert in the young man that was Tom Riddle meant that the one man who could have prevented the rise of Lord Voldemort by taking a young Tom Riddle under his wing never did.
Would be fun to see what happens when Harry and Bella come back. Tom can never die at a hand other than Harry's according to the prophecy, so Tom could be old as dirt by the time that happens. I'd imagine, though, that a brilliant man like Tom Riddle, unencumbered by the madness of his split soul, would easily create something like the Philosopher's Stone to keep himself young and fresh in the meantime.
