I really liked this story! The leaving of aithusa was quite hearth wrenching and that is not something I usually say to emotional scenes. Thanks for sharing!

Never heard that before but it's so true. Ultimately Kilgarrah (spelling error) was Uther's fault and Merlin did release the burden on the king's shoulders.

Oh I love Merlin and Mithian together. And I love a "forced to think" Arthur. This was a great story. Thank you.

Okay, first thing-I LOVE THIS! I wish that they had made this an episode (and Merthian for the rest of the series.) I added the story to my Merthian community group.

The ambiance is spot on. I can see and hear Merlin, Mithian and Gawain. Rodor would indeed have the conversation with Odin. The Arwen conversation about Merlin and Mithian follows what I'd expect from the series (and admittedly what I've written in my own Merthian fics). Aithusa would be that skittish especially given the feedback from Morgana's injuries and her experiences.

Love the respect Rodor shows for Merlin's talents and abilities. Kudos to Odin too. Now maybe they can give Arthur a clue? (Odin needs to tell Arthur what he just said to Rodor.)

The only question I have is with Arthur. Sorry. I wish I could be as optimistic as you are in that regard. I don't buy that he'd be that accepting of Merlin being a warlock and a Dragon Lord at least not right away. Don't get me wrong-you've written the way Arthur *should react* given how much Merlin's done for him and all of that. I know when I write the reveals/interactions between Arthur and Merlin, I so want to force it into this vein so that everything comes together perfectly. But given Arthur's stance on magic, the Old Religion, dragons, Merlin's role in releasing Kilgarrah (even if it was to stop Segan), I don't see it happening this way. Again I love what you've done here. I really do. I can see Mithian and Gwen playing peacemaker. I definitely see Gawain getting in Arthur's face and risking the stocks for Merlin in that regard.

Please keep writing Merthian. You're great at it. I'd love to see a sequel. Hey I started with "Mistletoe" two years ago and Divides Crossed is still going.

The tone changed in this last chapter to a serious disertation of Arthur's thoughts. It's very good and well written, but it doesn't actually match the flow of the previous chapters.
