I just found the story and I like it's kind of although I would admit that if you're going to look at the TOS original series and then add in the JJ Abrams version the original Lieutenant Uhura was amazing and revolutionary for her time. Also the character was with James T for a bit including an episode not Spock. I will admit JJ Abrams version of Lieutenant Uhura leaves something to be desired but to categorize her as less than is kind of not fair. At least if you're referencing back to the TOS

This ending sure wraps thing up doesn't it, hmm? How did Spock and McCoy deal with their failure to help Uhura? If they did not then Rosalind's ability to manipulate is very good. I always thought McCoy had a conscience and was a good doctor. How many other people did he fail to protect? Is he lackey of Rosalind? In the TOS and AOS he is very independent and capable of acting within his conscience. Spock can shield himself McCoy cannot. So what protection does he have against these two and what is to prevent them from dropping him like yesterday's garbage? Please don't tell me there is a kid to prevent this because it won't. Kirk in whatever medium is a very skilled tactician. Rosalind is an empath and I am sure she has manipulated people in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
