Wow, great job!

Wow, this was so beautiful yet heartbreaking.

Beautiful story and terribly underrated. I've been looking for a dramione fic that doesn't have the dramione ending but you just *know* something happened. This is exactly how I imagined it to be, thank you so much for that. I've always imagined draco and hermione becoming friends in eighth year and developing feelings for each other but never acting on it and you wrote it so well. Thank you so much. Definitely putting this on my favorites now :)

Wow the end really hit me hard. I love how weary Hermione feels throughout, her present and most of the past seeming to be varying levels of trying and sapping her of her energy. I can't even say the bright spots were with Draco, as she seems to have had very few of them. The discussion of the fifth house is something I found really illustrated how Hermione's been stuck in limbo since the war, while everyone else seems to have moved past it, even if it had taken years. Very poignant. Great job. Also, in my head Draco watched her too, that day, and soon they meet up and go nuclear and destroy their families and lives for each other. And Hermione is finally able to move forward.

This was so desperately sad and poignant. Incredibly well-written. It hit me so hard with the feels. I think we've all been at similar crossroads to Hermione, where we know that something new is thrilling and right but we're afraid to reach for it, where we think we're only entitled to one way of life and owe it to others to fulfill those expectations, where we then live forever afterward with the regret of it.

I liked how you wrote in past tense for all her eighth year moments and in present tense for her married life with Ron and their kids. I think what could have made this even more perfect is if you had italicized the present. Usually italics are used for flashbacks, but doing it the opposite way in this story would have brought home the point that Hermione's "real" life is the one with Draco and her present is just an imitation.

BTW, I'm making it through your HP one-shots one by one and I absolutely adore your Draco. *sigh* He's almost exactly how I imagine him post-war: stoic, insecure, formal.

This fic made me reevaluate my entire life. So moving and touching. Very well done. I applaud you.

Heartbreakingly beautiful! I think you got Draco’s characterization down, because also I imagined he wouldn’t want to make another move unless Hermione gave him a positive sign.
Even though I knew the outcome from the beginning, I was hoping Hermione would step up and do something instead of settling with Ron. At least Draco seemed to be happy with Astoria.
