That Wyatt/Jiya conversation, yesssssssssssss, easily the best part of this one for me!

Also, I have no idea why, but I really wanted Rufus to have stolen and been driving the cab, not just a passenger. I was cracking myself up with this thought!

Yeah!

Another marvellously tension-filled story about the Time Team. I know that Rufus was mainly in the wings, but as this is heavily Wyatt and Lucy based is nothing to do with time travel and more to do with their delicious chemistry. Then his and Jiya's presence is perfectly adequate.

Personally I think the two actors involved have an incredible chemistry together. Not insinuating anything, I just think they'd make an awesome couple from the minute part of their profiles that we see and know on-screen. I know they're both happily married in real life.

I've digressed again! Sorry. What I'm trying to say that you have written them as dancing around their inclinations towards each other, until one is in mortal peril and their feelings are brought to the fore - yes, it's been done before: But you just seem to do it so poetically. You make it seem like we're watching personal friends stagger around this very situation, trying to ignore or stem feelings that might open them up to disappointment, rather than the very real prospect of being happy. Together.

OH! OH! Absolutely wonderful! That was so sweet of Wyatt, it got me squealing with joy. And his line about women can't live on take out just got me busting out laughing! I loved this story, and I just have to say, referring to LivingInSmilesIsBetter's hilarious comment to chapter 4, that part of the story was my favorite. Great work here.

See and now he’s grocery shopping for her. Yeah, you’re killing me with caretaker Wyatt. Omg. And then that conversation with Jiya! I love Wyatt and Jiya friendship moments. I always love when Jiya shows how perceptive she is and plays counselor. She’s so caring and clever that it just has to be that way. And then the big conversation at the end unfolded perfectly. I love that Wyatt is worried about what happens when the mission ends. Such a nice call back to 1x16. And how he kinda panics and talks over Lucy. He would. Dork. And then the teasing and the flirting. And the after party ;) this was so great! I loved all of this from start to finish! Thank you for writing it! It hit all my Lyatt soft spots!

Oh I love the image of Lucy waking up and finding Wyatt in her kitchen. It’s so domestic and comfortable and intimate. Geez. Chapter barely started and i’m already melty. And then he does that caretaker thing again that just makes swoon because Lucy deserves to have someone take care of her after all those years taking care of her mother. And oh god the “that’s the last thing i’m trying to do” moment. Wyatt’s not trying to kill Lucy but I think you’re trying to kill me lol. ;) (also, sidenote, ginger tea is gross ick.) The little subtle questioning there at the end was cute by the way. Haha, oh Wyatt. On to the next!

Oh god. Lucy and Wyatt seeking eachother out for mutual comfort is my kryptonite. Because god does it do wonders for both of them. This was just beautiful. The description of how Lucy woke up to find Wyatt’s hand on her arm and then her finding her phone and the feelings surrounding her birthday. So beautiful. And then you went and had Wyatt notice she was gone (because of course he would) and he was all adorable and concerned and caretaker Wyatt again with some flirtation. And then that last bit of conversation where Wyatt’s pouring his heart out as she’s falling asleep. Oh god. So many emotions. I love it.

Oh gosh I loved this. I love it when Lucy just knows what’s going on in Wyatt’s head. I love the whole mutual care and concern of this relationship. With the bickering that they don’t really mean and the banter and then the actual words of reassurance. Best bit for me was her little threat to get down from the exam table and how fast she knew it would bring Wyatt to her. So cute. Oh gosh I love this!

Omg my poor babies. Ugh, for someone to wheeze that tightly...oh god just yikes. I don’t blame Wyatt in the slightest. I would have take that guy out too. But i do love gentle, concerned, caretaker Wyatt so much. Oh gosh that whole scene where he’s trying to make sure she’s okay was beautiful. Also loved Rufus saving the day. And the image of Wyatt with Lucy in that cab. Oh my heart!

Okay, the first part where they’re just walking and Lucy is being adorable and quirky was so spot on. She’s just doing her and even though Wyatt used to find it strange now he’s basically all heart eyes. And then the line about the medal. Gah. The mutual respect. Killing me. So perfect. And then when they duck in that warehouse and worried Wyatt shows up. YESSSSS. I am going to like this I can tell.

YES I love Jiya and Wyatt friendship! I want to see this more everywhere because I think they'd be a perfect mix of sassing each other but also genuine sibling like affection. I love that she talked him through all of this. ALL THE EMOTION! And how good is he at gift buying?! I was giggling to myself at Wyatt's little morning problem... um, yes, he was very aware he was in bed with Lucy LOL bwahahaaha! He's such a gentleman. And I love that Lucy was like "right, ok, let's talk about things" and then he says things he should have said in 1x16 so this just fits SO WELL and AHHHHH I just loved it all. Great, GREAT job!
