OMGGG THIS WAS SO CUTE! I loved it so much! The characterizations were spot on and it was super enjoyable to read, but I have to say my favorite scene of all was when Toshi woke up from being swatted in the face. Lol Thank you! :DDD

Fantastic chapter! I love Toshizo's antics and Hijikata and Chizuru are so in-character. As others have noted, the ending is great!

Before reading chapter 2, I re-read the first chapter. It is just as great the second - or is it the third - time around.

Oh, Shell. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Fan-fucking-tastic chapter! The little vignettes into their domestic bliss were superb! I’ve never loved Hijikata more thanks to this! I love the scene where Toshizo the cat is pestering him while he slept. I can picture every exasperated look Hijikata is throwing each time. And the ending?! [EVIL CACKLE] Genius, I tell you. Genius.

Such a good chapter and a perfect extension of the story! I love all the little basenji quirks you put in there. Especially the B500 lol! I laughed at Toshi the Cat’s antics in bed! Good grief I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been writing and my cat wants attention. First comes the meowing, then the batting, and yes, the inevitable bite to the ear! The ending to the chapter was perfect! Seems there’ll be another little Souji running around :) the joke will be on Hijikata if the cat ends up with Souji’s sense of fun lol! I really really enjoyed reading this!

Wonderful! Cute scenes, great writing, this was so much fun! Also, Chizuru and Hijikata were both sweet and completely believable together. One day I'll learn how to write something like this. (grin)

This was a great stroll through the park. Everyone was in character and the story worked very well. I love the fact that, wherever and whenever he is, Hijikata's hair flutters in the breeze.
