This is such a unique and addicting story! You've somehow intertwined so many worlds/canons into one big origin story, and you've done it so seamlessly. The internal thoughts and dialogue between everyone is distinct, and seems to really provide personalities to each of the characters.
I loved the part about the rings and the status quo associated with them. You have a lot of little details like that in this story that just really make this tale stand out on its own.
Can't wait to see where you go with this!

No lie but I am in love with your world building. I love how rings can be used as currency for the poor was as well a sort of power-up shortcut. Nice touch on how the Tornado belongs to Sonic ;)

Okay so Sonic's relationships with each individual guardian are well played out. Of course Maria would be his best friend in the group, they're just a bunch of kids looking for adventure. I'm really enjoying Seris as a character and how she is sorta like the 'mom' of the of the group. Can't wait to find out more about her. And of course Fleetway is such an enjoyable jerk that I can't help but love him. Nice to see that Sonic and him are getting closer. The guardians just following Sonic around giving encouragement and funny or useful commentary gives me a 'Sonic and the Secret Rings' vibe.

Tails is a total cutie and Sonic finally gets someone to talk too that's corporeal. Hope Sonic and Amy can be friends in the future.

Can't wait to see what else is in store!

My most feels-inducing thing about this entire concept is when he meets Shadow and having Maria around in his head just...begging for Shadow to stop. Sonic listening to the stories Shadow tells him and Maria telling him those same stories. Sonic wanting to tell Shadow about what he sees. Sonic wanting Shadow to know that his friend is still here, and she misses him terribly. Sonic trying so hard to comfort them both.

The feels got me there.

This is interesting, as well as different. Although the parts when Sonic talks to himself in his head (when they can't hear him, his inner dialogue), it kinda catches me off guard because you go from third person to Sonic's first person POV without warning. Maybe using italics for his thoughts or something to show you had switch would help and prevent any confusion.
But that's the only nitpick I had. Other than that, I'm very intrigued in this. I look forward to see what happens here. .
