Elizabeth, I can understand, but Jane dressed as a man riding on horseback to London is truly astonishing! My hat is off to your creativity. Darcy was true to himself and married Elizabeth. Jane refused any additional doings with Bingley which was a smart move because it further distanced her from the Bingley sisters much to their dismay. Nor did he marry a woman who allowed his sisters to do what they wanted much to their additional dismay. Touche!

Clever ending but who did Jane marry?

I don't know how I missed this short story before, but somehow I did! I'm glad that I've found it now though.

I especially liked that the cousins meet because they are hiding from their Aunt Catherine and the characterization of Darcy as not being interested in estate business.
Caroline Bingley certainly sounds like she had cause to repent her machinations.
