Reviews for After the End - SYOC
Silverstone007 chapter 2 . 1/7/2018
Back at it again! It feels like I’m watching a pilot episode again after so long. It’s similar to what I remember with a few distinct differences. Can’t wait to see how this version of the story turns out.

OMG I'm so happy to see this! I've had the first upload of this story in my bookmarks of my computer since you first published it, and was very disappointed when I came to read it today and it was deleted! Hope that doesn't seem creepy since it was an unfinished story but I just really enjoy this story and admire your writing skills. Eagerly awaiting the next update!

I know i'm late reviewing but I like the first chapter, it gives you a good feel for the story and the characters introduced, looking forward to the next chapter and what you do with my character. On that note hope you had a good Christmas. Hope you update soon!

Nice chapter! It's like revisiting old friends. I do like the changes you've made...the story was good before, of course, but seems a bit 'tighter' now. Well done! I noticed a few faces missing...but this is just the start of the story. I wonder who will show up next...maybe even new people? Keep up the good work! I anxiously await the next installment!
Rougeification chapter 2 . 12/23/2017
Okay, 3:12 in the morning... let's do this.

First off, I love how you took the original opening and altered it - it's still a strong opening, showing the campers start their day like any other. It's a great sense of beginning. Also, the three different characters to focus on felt diverse and fluid. So, let's rattle off on the three primary characters introduced in this character...

Rowan and Luke... what's a story without some sibling drama/angst? There was just the right amount of it - Rowan's not being angsty, she's genuinely trying to contribute, and Luke obviously doesn't see her as 'just a kid', he wants to protect her. This is all believable, which makes the 'angst' really effective. Plus, the threat of impending death helps kind of add gravity to the situation. Rowan's awesome, and you really showed Luke's maturity in a subtle, skilful way.

I think I remember Merrick from the last time you did this story - if so, she's still probably my favourite from this chapter. There's just something about her helping out with the younger Sara that really warms my heart. That little comment from Sara about Michael and Merrick was cute, and Michael's reaction was pretty telling - I thought I saw some sparks starting to fly... like, a teeny bit.

Amos being the de facto leader is good - military, middle-aged man... it's no surprise why Merrick's so responsible. I also like that he didn't say much - it made it seem like when Amos says something, he's picked his words very carefully, and every sentence has purpose behind it.

Anna Marie! Nice to see the mother of the group - one thing I like is that the ages are already so diverse... and she was a nun? Hold the phone! That's so strange to hear - I wonder if she's going to be the sort of 'raggedy pastor' for the camp.

And we see someone I'm pretty sure is Russell Stone. Nice, quick start to the story. I can't wait for the next one - I'm so hyped for this story!

Yeah! Good second chapter, I liked the introductions and the small background information on each character mentioned or given a pov.

Running into trouble on a run and a lot of the times end up with gunfights, injuries, deaths, or a person getting left behind on accident. Hopefully you don't kill any recurring characters too early in the story, but hey it happens if it does.

Can't wait to read more, update soon.

Sweet, an update. I loved reading this chapter and getting to meet some of the characters living in the camp. Thanks again for accepting Savannah and I have to say I have no issue with the way she was written. I liked reading her chat with Anne-Marie and I couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of Anne being a nun. I have to say that Anne is my favourite character so far, I just love how upfront and funny she is. She is a very down to earth and realistic character, I’m looking forward to reading more of her POV and seeing her interact with Amos. It seems like they’re going to have a pretty interesting and awesome dynamic.

Amos is my second favourite, he snatched my interest with his line about not letting other people tell him what to do. He does seem to be a born leader and I like that he cares about everyone under his care, even the new people that won’t open up to him, like Rebecca.

I’m looking forward to learning more about Rebecca’s past and why she has a haunted look to her eyes. I’m going to withhold on forming an opinion on her until I see her again, but I am interested in her.

Sara is just a sweetheart and I’m hoping that she doesn’t lose her innocence, but I feel like she will have to eventually if she wants to survive. She has a nice relationship with her dad and I liked seeing them together, his protectiveness and the fact that they don’t want to let go of each other breaks my heart a little. It’s a sweet relationship that they have and I want to see more of them, so I’m hoping Michael survives the run.

Merrick is pretty interesting in her own right. I’d like to see her interacting with her dad eventually because I feel like that would be pretty cool to read about. Right now I have to say I enjoy her relationship with Sara the most, the conversation between Merrick, Sara, and Michael was so cute and kinda funny to read.

I’d have to say Luke and Rowan were the most realistic characters in my opinion (although that’s not saying the others aren’t realistic, just that I can relate more to Luke and Rowan). The sibling bickering is something I can relate to and at the end of the day siblings do care about each other. It was nice to see that between the two of them and I liked Luke’s older brother protectiveness. I can relate to these two characters the most and I’m hoping that Luke comes out of the run okay so that they have a chance to interact more.

I’m going to assume that the man Savannah and Anne-Marie found at the end of the chapter was Nathan. I’m excited to see how he interacts with the other group members and just what he has been up to the last three months, if that is him of course. If it isn’t him I’m looking forward to seeing who they found.

I also want to meet this Iris person, the fact that Amos finds her scary interests me. I can’t wait for the next chapter to come out! :)
Wincestcher chapter 2 . 12/22/2017
Wow! What a fantastic chapter! It was so great getting to know a little about all the main characters, I'm so excited to learn more about them all.
You portrayed Luke and Rowan absolutely perfectly. You showed Luke's caring overprotectiveness and Rowan's playful, yet reckless, charm. You got their sibling dynamic spot on, and I loved how they both cracked jokes at each other and had little arguments; it makes them both feel very real. You really showed how they complement each other as well as their strong sibling bond and I appreciate that :)
I really enjoyed Merrick's character and her relationship with both Sara and Michael. She seems very levelheaded and creative, and she's clearly very good at interacting with people of all ages, so she's going to be a great asset to the camp. Sara was sweet with her and I enjoy the bond Michael has with both his daughter and Merrick; he's serious, but you can definitely see his true soft spots for them. He definitely seems like he'd be a great runner with his build and personality, so the whole camp is definitely in good hands with him around.
Rebecca is mysterious, but I'm intrigued to learn about her backstory and what makes her so hesitant to open up to the others at camp. Amos is definitely the leader of the camp, and for a good reason. He seems very tough and one to take control, which is important to have during a time like this. I'm looking forward to seeing his relationships with everyone else; a strong personality like his could maybe cause him to butt head with others, but also get others to open up to him.
Savannah being pregnant was definitely something I wasn't expecting! It's going to be interesting to see how that plays out, and I'm excited to know more about her backstory and how she ended up at the camp. Anne Marie was also fascinating when she revealed she was a nun, and I think the two of them will form a real bond. They're different, but both very strong.
Anyway, I loved reading this and I can't wait for the next chapter!

Well this is certainly interesting, it isn’t often I find a Walking Dead Fanfiction I actually really enjoy so I’m pretty excited to see how this turns out. I’ll submit a character but honestly I just want to know what happens to Russel and Nathan so I’ll be reading Regardless of whether or not they get in. Anyway, I’ll get onto my opinion for the actual chapter now.

Poor Nathan, that’s all I really have to say because wow, he just lost everything in one chapter. I’m looking forward to seeing him try to find his son and just what kind of people he finds along the way. I like him, he’s very realistic in how he begged for his sons life and the little mini sort of argument he had with his son. That is something I enjoy very much and I look forward to reading more of that in the future.

Onto Russel, a somewhat moody and a bit reckless in my opinion with how he bit the bald mans hand. I’m curious to see what will happen to him in the future and just what those people meant by trading him. Is there a network of people being traded? How many groups are involved? I don’t know but it’s got me intrigued so I can’t wait to find out.

Those people that stole their supplies were actually pretty smart in their plan so I’m assuming that they’ve done this before. I can’t say I like them but I grudgingly admire their skill and the fact that they’re written realistically, executing their plan but also getting caught up in the heat of the moment. I’m assuming Lenny knocked out Nathan to try and save a bullet, which is smart, but maybe he just didn’t want to kill another human being? I honestly don’t know with Lenny so I’m looking forward to potentially learning more about him.

I’m looking forward to your next chapter! :)

This was very good. Poor Russell and Nathan though. The apocalypse brings out the worse in people. I'll send in an OC and good luck. Have a nice day.
