I really like this story. Usually, I enjoy more action in stories, but I've enjoyed this so far.
And thank you for your good grammar, you have no idea how many stories I stopped reading because of bad grammar. I'm really fucking happy that good stories like this one exist!
Keep writing, keep updating. I'm curious to read more (assuming there's more to this story?)

This is a splendid chapter and I’m so relieved that Alex will be okay. But my God, nine bullets! I mean, I remember when my friends brothers best friend got shot. He had seven bullets in him and survived, so I understand Alex surviving. But that is one heck of a miracle and I’m so grateful to Alex’s guardian angel! But though he’s alive, the poor kid will be in a helluva lot of pain! It’ll take him weeks, if not months, to recover.

I’m super excited about the conversation between Alex and Mike. I want to know what they are going to talk about, what’s Alex going to say about it, what’ll Mike’s reaction be... basically everything so I’m super hyped and can not wait until the next chapter.

And I know I mentioned this before, but I absolutely LOVE the addition of James Hale and Tom Harris. Especially James, because not a lot of fics talk about him even though Horowitz said in the last book that James is Alex’s best friend.

YES! Alex is alive!

Well, I always knew he would be but Mike’s desperation was getting to me. And I think it’s sooo awesome that Mike not only found Alex, or at least his full name, but he also discovered that him and James are best friends. That’s awesome!

But seriously, meningitis and ulcers? That’s ridiculous and I sincerely hope that James doesn’t believe that. In fact... will Mike tell James what really happened? I mean, Mike already knows that the illness is as fake as the article. Or he will find out when he sees Alex.

Anyway, I’m super psyched to see what’s next and I look forward to their reunion. Alex and Mike and Alex and James both.

Good story, though the bit about filling in insurance paperwork before leaving hospital is a dead giveaway that you’re not British - the whole point of the National Health Service is that it’s free at the point of use, we pay for it through our taxes. Nobody pays for hospital treatment, about 10% of people have private health insurance but that only lets you get faster treatment for minor operations in a nicer private hospital - for emergencies and major treatment everyone uses the NHS.
