Although I'm pretty typically #TeamJacob, I have enjoyed this fic. I have been in Bella's shoes in a way and i understand what you are leading her through well. Hi, so I just binged this story in less than 24 hours and can I just say; wow! Not my usual story I look for but well written and a very interesting take on the idea of Bella experiencing sexual assault.

I'm also normally a Jacob fan, even though I do find his assault of Bella in the original story awful, but you've done well with this to just slightly twist him enough from that character into this and to fit this narrative.

I also want to say, as a survivor of an assault from someone I trusted and had a good relationship with before one night with drugs and alcohol blurring lines that never should have been, I really enjoyed how you presented Bella's trauma and how she processed it. I didn't think my assult was an assult for quite some time. At first it was just an 'oh oops I shouldn't have let myself get to that state thats awkward' and it took months before I actually looked at the situation and realised just how wrong it was. So thank you for portraying trauma in a way that I never see but we know can be oh so real.

Terrific, very grim chapter.

Can't really agree with Esme's view of this. If it's B's last meeting with her mother, why would she want to burden Renee with the information that her daughter was raped, followed by her disappearing forever? "Honesty" is all very well, but Bella already has to hide significant facts from her mother; why not also hide a fact that would give her mother pain? Then, given the nature of their relationship, Bella would have to comfort Renee. I like your writing of Esme, but this surprises me.

Great chapter. Bella's inhibitions, and the problems they cause, are brought out very effectively. And once again, the total lack of privacy, the constant surveillance, is shown for the burden it is, almost a threat in itself.

Getting Rose's input makes a lot of sense, given her past experiences. So does her offer to avenge Bella. (I'd love to see someone - preferably yourself - write up Rosalie's reaction to Jacob's forced kiss in the original novel.)

You get across very clearly, in this chapter and previous ones, just how oppressive is Bella's complete and absolute lack of privacy.

I love how you dealt with Carlisle's ambivalence and inner struggles. It's understandable for someone from his time, and actually rather touching that he kept things professional for Bella's sake.

Going back a few chapters to mention that you handle the ambiguities of sexual assault with great subtlety and sensitivity - but without compromising on the horror of rape. Excellent.
