There is literally no reason for the trees around Konoha to be full of chakra.

Unless you are going AU in a very major aspect of the Canon.

The trees of that world produce a type of energy dubbed 'Natural energy'.

This energy can turn Animals: such as humans and other monkeys, Toads or other amphibians, and such... into stone.

To counter this, animals developed physical and spiritual energy which repels this energy and thus going to low on chakra can have a horrible outcome.

Spoiler: The god tree seeds was sent out by the Otsutsuki clan to harvest this 'natural energy' and turn it into the two types of energy produced by animals to ward of natural energy: except in a combined state Chakra. It is unclear whether they sent these seeds to other planets in their universe, or other universes entirely, or merely alternate realities within the same universe. However, they seem to follow the same laws of physics and thus it is a good guess to say they are alternate realities and not actual different universes.
