Regretfully, you will need to reword something. Kakashi here said:

"He'll remain tied to that pole. You're not allowed to feed him. You've got like, fifteen to twenty minutes to eat and get ready. I'll be back."

The first sentence is the problem. To allow Naruto to eat himself, Sasuke pulled out a kunai and presumably set him free. That goes against Kakashi's instructions, so...

Please either change Kakashi's instructions (for example have him say "I'll leave Naruto tied to that pole" which technically removes the instruction), or change Sasuke's actions, or give us an outtake where Kakashi or Hiruzen remarks the trio did disobey him in the end.

Better than canon. Kudos for that.

wow. I'm an idiot. just realize it when I read what Sasuke said. I keep thinking the same thing as canon . just share the food. maybe I didn't think of it even though I was pissed off when Naruto was still tied up when Team kakashi left.

How did I never think of this? It’s so simple it’s brilliant. I’m not sure if they were capable of plans like this until Shippuden, but it’s awesome so who cares?

Huh. This was really short, and up until almost the end I thought it was just going to be a very brief, only slightly different retelling... And I guess it kind of was... But I still love where you went with this. It feels like such a simple answer, but is technically true and still allows for them to pass his test while following the rules. So this was... interesting. Thank you for making me think.

Nah. See this version of events has Sakura showing initiative and being somewhat useful. This immediately makes it immersion breaking :)
