Poor Dean, That would suck. I like the end. I would think Cass would wonder how he lost his love for Dean. He would be pissed at the empty. It was sad . thanks for the happy ending. I got something in my eyeballs a lot. stop that!

Ermahgerd, this is amaaaaaaazing! Broke my heart into itty bitty bits, then glued them all back together with mush. FWIW, I think you nailed Dean's reaction to having his mind read - he's so private already, and he hadn't even had time to process what it all meant yet. It would be straight humiliating for him to have Cas see. *heart eyes*

While I loved the ending, I really don't think Cas would spring a mind-read on Dean... It would be a violation, akin to a Vulcan performing a Mind Meld on someone without their consent. With the dream theme you have going through these chapters, it could have been more in keeping to have Cas pick their love up from Dean's dreams? That could have been another less out-of-character solution. :) This was very well written, though, and I honestly don't think Dean was out of character at all, in here, just Cas. I can't see him doing this to Dean, although I can hear him stumbling his way through an explanation of what he had seen in Dean's dreams... ;) This was very good, anyway, very well written and thought out, and the first chapter had me guessing (and not guessing correctly, either!).

This was brilliant! You wrote the Entity so well - I could hear Misha's Entity voice in my head. ;) The scene was really realistic, and I do think Dean is in character here - I know what you mean about Dean emoting, but in this situation, with the hope the Entity could restore Cas, it doesn't seem so far-fetched! And you wrote it so well, because I was squirming for Dean! It was really difficult to read. And the outcome! Poor Dean! Well done!

This was really interesting! I think you succeeded in depicting the shift you were going for! So in this story, you're positing that the creature in the Empty came out instead of Cas..?!

Heartbreaking, but exactly how I think the Destiel plot will play out, minus the finding each other in the end. Maybe the writers will put in something like your last scene at the very end of the series, but not before then. I'm holding out hope that Dean has a more emotional reunion with real Cas this season that will more match the suicidal depression Dean's been in for the first five episodes of this season. Sorry for the rant; guess I'm a little tired of the queerbaiting, unless that's just my imagination.

At this stage in the game I'd be up for Dean dying on every hunt, just so he gets to talk with Billie. The entity being an added bonus. You successfully forced the admission of what's wrong. I'm hooked, and I want to know what's going to happen next. Looking forward to the next chapter.

This was a really interesting story.
I'm someone that doesn't really see much of a bond anymore between the Winchesters & Castiel.
So, I don't know if it's my bias, or you intended it to be ambiguous, but I see Dean's "death" & conversation with The Empty & Billie as an unconscious dream/hallucination/nightmare where he's searching for something, anything really, to rationalize the loss of a bond that he knows hasn't existed for awhile.
Anyway, great writing.

I liked the hell nightmares very much. The lack of a bond is tragic though! Poor Dean, not that he always fully appreciated it. I think you conveyed all this and Dean's realisation very well. But I can't imagine how Dean could ever articulate it aloud. So I don't know how this will work out. I'm worried for him. :(
