THANK YOU! Thank you for writing such a wonderful story! Thank you for your understanding of the characters and culture of the time. Your mystery was fantastic, character development was thoughtful and true to the show. But most importantly I’m so glad that you didn’t force Phryne into marriage and pregnancy because it would be convienient! You did an amazing job capturing the true nature of her and Jack’s relationship and gave them a Happy Ending that is perfectly unconventional!
Quiltingmom chapter 26 . 1/29/2019
OH MY GOSH! I am gutted! This was absolutely the most heart-wrenching, angsty and gut churning story I have ever read AND I LOVED EVERY WORD OF IT! Holy crow! I literally fell asleep with the iPad on my chest, woke up (way to early I might add) and started reading it again. I have avoided phone calls, texts, business and family obligations because of this, this, this masterpiece. Wow! It was 26 chapters of heartache and captivation and I can’t believe I didn’t read the last chapter first, because I’m all about the spoilers. I wasn’t ever entirely convinced that you were going to give me a happily ever after but thank heaven you did. Wow, wow, wow. (Technically you didn’t give me the perfect happily ever after but what the hell, in my imagination you did, lol). I don’t think I’ve ever commented on a story on fan but I was so compelled to comment on this. The Jack and Phryne story was gripping but I also gotta say, the murder mystery, along with the story of the Aboriginals was deeply impacting. I just loved (and at times hated) every aspect of this story. Sigh. I’m not doing a very good job of telling you how wonderful your writing and story telling skills are but if I could capture just a tenth of what I’m feeling and the awe I have for you, I would bottle it up and send it to you. I can’t express how grateful I am that you wrote this, and how guilty I feel neglecting everything else in my real life for it, lol. It’ll be our little secret. ;-) I’m looking forward to exploring more of your works.

So, I *FINALLY* have time to comment on this, even though I read it about two seconds after you posted like the *coughs* enthusiastic fan I am.

I know I've already flailed over the case, but I just have to do it one more time-the atmosphere and the history both make this story feel distinctly Australian, and you brought such depth to that side of the story. Utterly, utterly wonderful. And heartbreaking, obviously. 3

Now, as for the ending... my guess was close! And it is such a hopeful ending; I hope the time away can help them find their footing and heal from the damage they both suffered. If anyone can solve this mystery, it's these two.

But more than anything, THANK YOU for such a marvelous story. I suspect I'll be rereading it often. 3

This was so good. Once I started reading, I had to finish all 26 chapters. Kudos to you for such a well written, emotional, thrilling story. It has become one of my favorites!
travellady77 chapter 26 . 9/28/2018
Oh what a happy ending! 3 month of travel together! It’s like a honeymoon!
Maybe someday Phryne will change her mind about marriage! Hope they will be happy together! In love and in crime solving!
And many thanks for the insights in Australian history! One should never forget, although some things were really awful! Hope it never happens again!

Great story! Very angsty and Jack kinda broke my heart.
SetV chapter 26 . 9/22/2018
Wow, that was really, really good. What a great case fic you created, wonderful research even if it was heartbreaking, those poor girls, your OCs were wonderful, and you write some excellent actions scenes, the flood, the bad guys, the boat *shudders*

The Phrack was something else, different, complex and engaging. I didn't think you could get them together by the end in a believable way, but you did, that was most impressive, although tbh you were so good at showing their differences that a small part of me was actually a bit disappointed that they weren't apart and trying to move on by the end. I know bad, bad shipper but it was just that I was left wondering if they didn't just postpone the inevitable with this amazing trip and their many issues will show up when they try to be together IRL but at least Jack got to see India. 3 That was quite the nice gift from Aunt P.

And Jack, oh Jack, he was amazing in this fic, Phrack might be a hardcore OTP but I kinda admired his decision to move on, it was painful but he was doing the right thing the way things stood, I loved that he got to be angry and didn't have perfect reactions but still he acknowledged his blame in the situation plenty of times and that he wasn't just planning on running and wallowing in misery and heartbreak for the rest of his life, that he was open and willing to find someone else and try to be happy, and damn did he try to leave and be away from Phryne lol they are both responsible for their actions, it's a good thing she went after him so many times but I think I spent a ridiculous amount of time yelling "good god Phryne, if nothing is going to change with you, let the poor bastard go!"

Phryne was a difficult character here, I felt for her, her pain and her love for Jack were very clear and you did a great job explaining the marriage issue, it is quite the situation and I got why she couldn't, but she drove me a bit insane when she went on and on about how terrible love was, it made sense after all her traumas but man, it was kinda annoying after a while but I suppose she got there in the end how being in love wasn't the worst thing to happen to someone even her, and she did change enough to want monogamy which I think it was the one thing I couldn't see this Jack compromising without feeling like a cop-out. All in all, amazing fic with some fantastic Jack and Phryne, and it was a pleasure to read.

Ah, all good things come to an end. So much has happened but they came through to a happy ending. Beautifully written, always well researched I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Thank you.
Guest chapter 26 . 9/11/2018
What a lovely story, thank you so much. At times the angst reading about these two knuckleheads was almost too much! Your research added so much to the tale and was appreciated. Thank you for ending it on a high note and I am sure they will somehow ‘elope’ during their trip to make everybody happy!
SJM chapter 26 . 9/11/2018
Loved the way you ended the story, out at sea, Jack gazing at the stars. It was a reflection of the beginning; an elegant lonely woman standing on deck in deep contemplation. Suddenly, you change everything... what an adventure to reach this unknown territory. Thoughtfully and beautifully written as to core characters, with additional historical insight into the tragedies of how aboriginal people were treated. Thank you for writing Blue Sky, and sharing.
propangel chapter 26 . 9/10/2018
After the last chapter, I wasn't sure what to expect. I am SO glad that they went on the boat together and decided to see where their relationship might go. You had me worried there for a while, and there were a lot of times I screamed at the phone or computer while I was reading this story. It was amazing and so well written. You devote a lot of time to research, which is obvious by all the details you provide along the way. Thank you so much for sharing this story and taking us on the journey with you. I enjoyed it immensely and always looked forward to your updates. Hope to see something new from you soon!

What a lovely story! Thank you very much! You are a brilliant writer and I got completely emerged in your tale - I remember the river scenes like a events a in my life! - thank you very much for this tender ending to counterbalance all the angst and horror.
In your story i especially liked the original characters and places! I would like to read more Phrack but I would love to read original stories, too! (preferably historical ones, you do it so well) I hope you are inspired! :)
