Call me crazy if i say i am not intrigue by this story..hope you continue this master piece...n maybe make a believable reason why jaune didnt become good in combat this time...maybe he is not talented in sword but more of a gun n spear guy ...weird but not the weirdest or their actual dust expert be a fun direction too

Water, water and not a drop to drink

Despite their "kind" nature I still am suprised Jaune doesn't out right despise the Rose Crew. Seriously, they could do things just like the pirate lord being immature, arrogant, drunk on power, romantasize about being something that is callous and malicious. So Jaune has a lotta pent up hate for them and should only desire his family's return which won't go well if he just joins an incompetent and self absorbed party of idiots who would most likely ignore his desire to save his adoptive family.

I'm suprised Jaune didn't go into a fit of rage at seeing pirates.

I was still reading Chapter 1 when I saw the mention of a pirate fleet and IMMEDIATELY I think of that song Captain Morgan by Pirates Life. That song is awsome by the way.

I hope Jaune ends up with Ellie in this fic. And Ruby's gang really need Jaune to navigate and plan. They are so incompetent at sailing. Will Jaune get his aura unlocked? Actually, why was it not unlocked before? His father had aura and was training Jaune. I also am curious about his original family.

So apart from the fact that I was almost dead from the laughing, is the shipping of Lancaster a possibility in this Fanfiction? Great worke with the Blake is a rasist. A truly evil Cliffhanger at the end.

My biggest worry is that Jaune will spend so much time with The Crew that A. he'll end up getting shipped with someone else, B. he'll end up becoming a pirate (and then like the Pirate Lord) by sheer willpower of wanting nothing to do with them (Criminal Mastermind-ing it), and C. his original family will grow to hate the fact that he's a pirate despite the fact that he's good and/or wants nothing to do with them.

Yes, for once, I'm more interesting in Jaune's relationship with his family than I am with the Beacon characters.

Aw man I don't often comment but I am so pumped on this story that I made an exception. I damn well love what you have already written and its almost painful knowing I have to wait for more.

Yeah I agree with what ZenithTempest said, it's hard to get in to a character when everyone else out does them, and sure you can write more about Jaune, but doesn't change the fact he's useless compared to almost everyone else, and the fact he's treated like one big fucking joke is annoying.

So I just found this story today and went through it all at once. The premise is good, I've only read one other RWBY-sea pirate story before, and this one is vastly different from that one, giving you a unique story to tell. I guess my question would be where this story is trying to go. By that I mean: who is the protagonist and what are they going to achieve? One would presume Jaune is the main character given he is the one with the backstory and the one's who POV is used the most, but he also seems to be playing the 'straight man' in an otherwise loony world. There's nothing wrong with that per se, but it's generally very hard to have a protagonist people can take seriously also being the butt of the jokes. When you add in that Jaune has neither aura nor a semblance and the other characters are superpowered, you end up wondering why Jaune is the protagonist at all.
Again, there's nothing wrong with that necessarily, but having Jaune be the 'normal' but weak and ineffective character that watches the rest of the cast do the important stuff is essentially canon RWBY. Eventually, depending on how long this story is going to be, readers will want to see some growth from the main character and want more than just jokes thrown his way all of the time.
All that said, I really like the story and hope you continue it to its completion, it just gave me the vibe most Jaune-centric fics do these days, which is that Jaune is there to watch the plot happen, not to influence it in any real way.
