Those of us who live in books certainly recognize aspect of ourselves in this story. :-) I'm surprised, though, that you have Hermione behaving as if romantic relationships are the only ones that exist or the only ones that matter. Friendship can also nourish the heart and soul, and surely Hermione could make deep friendships with some of the other teachers - McGonagall or Flitwick or somebody like that, plus she's been friends with Hagrid since she was eleven.

Brilliant story! I've never read "North and South", though I have read and reread the works of Austen, the Brontes and Dickens, but it sounds like one that I would enjoy. Thank you.

C'est certainement ce que vivent beaucoup de personnes qui aiment lire (dont moi), trouvant dans la littérature la diversion à une vie médiocre ou banale, à des relations humaines bancales (et à sa propre maladresse sociale).

You are a wonderfully colorful writer. I go back to your stories again and again, as they have a joie de vivre that is really rare. When a reader finds a writer she really likes and who has something pertinent to say, she will collect and read everything written by that writer. I was overjoyed to see the notification pop up.

Although this is not one of my most favorite stories (It’s a bit depressing, and I don’t really enjoy the same reading material Hermione does -I would enjoy Severus’s choice of reading material more), I have saved it and will re-read many times. I’m really looking forward to the sequel you’ve promised.

Ohmygosh! I cannot tell you how excited I was to get this alert! No exaggeration, but Pack Clouds Away might be one of my favourite stories ever. I mean ever-ever, not just in HP fandom. I find myself identifying with Hermione to an almost frightening degree - and it's rather uncomfortable at times. Such a beautiful and well written fic. I can't wait for parts 2 & 3 to go up. I'm so glad you're back!
