That was masterful. Your plan, even without being "realized" was still realized in an ideal. That last bit with Rin was especially the sort of conclusion you would want for a bittersweet yet triumphant story like this. Izuku achieves the greatest feats of heroics, gets the girl, and gets to send off his best friend with laughter and a smile. This is the epitome of the Japanese romance. That separation that leaves the heart aching but also fulfilled. Yeah, you had a good plan. Good on you brah. And great advice. You have the gift for writing.

Even though it was not to be for this story, listen to your muse! Don't let this talent go to waste!
