Hmm. Homura's gear takes a price based on the effect it has? The first time it took some of her life force and killed the enemy. The second time it took some of her memories, and wiped the target's memories clear. An interesting mechanic. Definitely sets it apart from the other gears.
Overall, I liked this story quite a bit.

Which church was this community service at anyway? Which area was that big shot excorxist sent from? The idea for this mini arc is neat, but the logistics of it make my head hurt a bit.

I just had the most interesting idea ever. Witches can be compared to Black Holes! In that analogy, Magical Girls are Stars, Despair is Gravity, Hope is the fuel for the Nuclear Fusion reaction, and the Law of the Cycles is an anti-Gravitational force that can prevent the final collapse somehow. It fits too well!

Just motives the theming of the chapter names... Nice.

I definitely enjoyed this story when first reading it, but there was something in this chapter that bothers me. Why would Madoka need the blueprints provided by Twilight Healing in order to construct her friends bodies? Magical Girls all have an increased level of regeneration, and with their souls existing independently of their bodies, they should be capable of reconstructing their bodies out of nothing with enough magic. From this, it stands to reason that every magical girl has the blueprints for reconstructing her own body embedded in her soul.

While typing this, with Joan of Arc appearing as a member of the Hero Faction later on, it would be so cool if Madoka sent Tart down. See how the two Jeanne d'Arcs face off! Of course since megucas are contractually obligated to be lesbian, sending Tart means Madoka would have no choice but to send Liz as well.

I know this fic is dead but now that I've actually watched madoka magica, seeing homura suffer even more is heartbreaking. yes, I also watched rebellion

I absolutely adore Madoka switching between serious and responsible Goddess of Heaven, and innocent 14 year-old girl at the drop of a hat. This might just be my favourite portrayal of Madokami in any fic simply because of this dichotomy. Why yes, the current owner of the throne of Heaven is gossiping with schoolgirls (who are actually devils), sightseeing around the Vatican with her adviser looking like her father, providing counselling services, and teaching cooking.

While this hasn't been updated in quite a while, it's been less than a year, so I'll still follow it and Hope that it may continue someday.

This chapter does bring a curious point. How strong is Homura compared to DxD beings. She's lived for so long to gain a lot of battle experience but no longer has her time stopping abilities.

I'm enjoying this Madoka a lot. Essentially someone whose is confident and braver. And that she's being proactive rather than reactive.

Shouldn’t Homura be stronger than that? Technically as a magical girl, her body has been enhanced, and the only way she can die is if her soul gem is finally to tainted to purify. That is the price of Madoka Magica magical girls. Thus she feels less pain for injuries and enhanced physical capabilities. Madoka, seeing as she’s a goddess would have some powerful powers as well.
