Poor Mikey! He always tries his best, but sometimes it doesn't feel like enough. I wish I could tell him that it's okay :(
From the last couple lines, my guess is that Donnie was found, but in a precarious state. Kinda scared, but I need to know what comes next!

Ok first I know EVERY angst author LOVES to hear this but HOW DARE YOU OMG. Just kidding (mostly) I know you've been working on this fic since the before times (2017 seems so long ago now) but I just want to say how incredibly proud and thankful I am that you've continued this fic. You are an AMAZING writer, and your angst... well, queue the meme from the Emperors New Groove. But really, reading this again all in one night made a really long and annoying day better. Knowing at the end of the day that there are people out there that care about you and will help you when you need it most really helps on days like today. I've to admit, I'm scared right now for Doonie. Where is he? What had happened to him while Mikey wasn't watching him?
Talking about Mikey, I can imagine how he's feeling. He knows everyone considers him a careless turtle, and for once he had the chance to prove everyone he could do something right just to in a blink of eye lose his brother. Poor Mikey.
About this, I find nice his first thought was to check Donnie's lab. It was as if Mikey thought things could be the same again :')
When Mikey felt a presence behind him, I feared it'd be Slash carring Donnie and making the youngest turtle he had Donnie again. But i got surprised/reliefed it was Sensei.
You know, is admirable how you manage emotions here, Raph being angry with Mikey for losing Donnie, but becoming guilty with just a wword from Leo, Leo trying to show he's calm and trying to think in the best way to act, but internally fearing what would had happen to his genius brother. And the last but not the least, Mikey. He feels completely guilty for losing his brother, and he's perfectly aware this is only his fault. And he also feels fear it could have been Slash sneaking into the lair and taking Donnie again.
And the suspens ending... why did Splinter screamed? My guess, he probably found Donnie in a corner or hidden somewhere in the lair and having a serious panic attack. Please tell me you'll update soon and let us know what's going on!

Oh god. My heart was racing the more I read this breathtakingly written chapter. Like, god. Dammit. You killed me. You actually killed me. The anxiety of Donnie possibly being back with Slash or missing was so palpable, not to mention Mikey and Raph's guilt. Part of me actually wanted to strangle the hot tempered turtle, but obviously he felt bad enough that he scared Donnie off the first time Slash got him. Everyone is clearly on edge and you illustrate that so beautifully. You managed to capture the voice of the characters and their behaviors so perfectly that I actually believed you could have been one of the writers of the show.

Lastly, now you've got me on the edge of my seat. What's happen with poor Donnie? Anyway, I can't wait to read more!

I've been following this story for a while and been meaning to leave a review, sorry it took so long! Just wanna say I absolutely adore this story, I love the slow build up and tension you create. The 2k12 series doesn't really focus at all on Donnie/Raph's relationship like the other brothers, which sucks because there's so much potential. You don't really see Raph acting like an older brother to Donnie like he does with Mikey, and I loved seeing how deeply he cares. I also really like the ongoing character development with Raph's struggle dealing with the consequences of his anger and guilt, especially when he ends up reverting back to it like when he yelled at Mikey. I feel little moments like those really tie into the overall main plot and I like watching how his character grows.

Keep up the awesome work :)

was it slash? did he try to leave on his own? if so, why? i have so many more questions! ahh, such a good cliffhanger though! poor mikey, and raph is learning from his mistakes! this story is still amazing, as your writing always is. hope you're doing well during this difficult time and sending lots of appreciation and hugs! Aww, I love the B-team moment here! That conversation in the flashback was really heartwarming.
But now I wonder what will go wrong during Mikey's bathroom break... :(

OMG, is Donnie going to wake up during Mikey's absence?! If so, I totally second that. The feels that this chapter brought on me, ...just wow. I actually wondered what was the aftermath after they had to battle Slash, or rather get beat by Slash, in the series, and I think you did really good at it. Of course Mikey would have been the most deeply affected, from their first attack and after Donnie was taken. Poor Mikey blamed himself and of course Donnie tried his best to comfort him. Those two have always had a special bond, and now Mikey is returning the favor. Don't let the Darkness consume you, Mikey, not when that particular trait is needed now! I'm loving this story, and thanks for updating. (I wonder if later in the story, Slash makes an appearance, but it's too early for that now.) Bye, I hope you're doing well during this uncertain time.
