Loved Cage being a bit scared of Jack. And then when she came back to basically spy and when she caught herself thinking Jack eyes her up for a sniper shot. Good. She should be afraid. Never did like her. I Always though all she did was try to get into the teams head.

Does it make me a bad person that I'm glad she got shot and had to leave the Phoenix team/family?

Somehow I just found this. I'm really smitten with how you fleshed-out this topic. I thought all the interactions were perfect between Cage, Jack, and Mac. I can totally see her inspecting Mac as if he were an oddity under a microscope. Something that she obsessively couldn't figure out. Very cool take on their relationships.

This is one of my favorite five that you have done. Do you think that you could continue it? I think that you could bring this story further. I just love the way that you portrayed Cage. I could see this ending with Cage continuing to analyze Mac to the point were Maddy has to step in. Thank you for your time!

Consider writing Mac's and Jack's POV maybe? Or pick it up to where Jack went back inside to get Mac out of his head? That would be great

Oh wow! Love, love, LOVE! I could feel every tense word, tight muscle, fear, and sadness. Glad she got an up close and personal glimpse at the real Jack! She needs to just back off Mac. Go back to the CIA.

WOW! Just wow! This piece is so amazing! As I was reading, I was constantly dreading the next line, begging Cage to shut up, to not play that dangerous game, to let Mac alone. And even though it was hard to see Mac's walls coming down in such a painful way, I couldn't stop reading. It was heartbreaking, but in a very beautiful way (that makes any sense to you?). And Jack... Oh boy, thank god he's always there to help and support Mac. Our boy would be lost without him.
