I am of the camp that didn't see this pairing happening going into the story, but I'm sold. Having the day be saved in part by a kiss was pretty great, and having somebody learn her whole story is cathartic.

I always kinda wondered if the problem of not enough chakra could cause complications for her, which would be a good reason for not planning on having kids. Not expecting to live past the war is a pretty good reason too. I could also see her using Naruto as a chakra battery to handle it at this point.

So I just read this for a third time. This is coming from someone who never re-reads fan fiction, that is quite the compliment. I was actually reading your Sasuke x Shikako one when I realized you wrote this one too lol. So I love you and just wanted you to know.

I read DoS, yet honestly, I enjoyed this fic more, given it paired Naruto and Shikako together. Given their relationship in DoS, it sounds plausible for Naruto and Shikako to form a relationship. Oh, I know it seems more plausible for Sasuke to be the one, but I do not like him anyway.

Rereading (again), noticed a small continuity errorinitially, Shikako says Akatsuki already captured Yugito Nii, and hadn't gone after Gaara, so something was off with the timeline, but then when she confronts the Raikage, she cites the attack on Gaara as an example of what he's been ignoring.

Okay this was the romance I didn't know I wanted and I absolutely adore it. Not to mention Team 7 all being such complete badasses? Holy hell, man. Great action and Shikako spilling and Naruto saving Shikako with a kiss! Hnnngggggggggg

Not to mention that extra was fantastic and hilarious. Loved the replacement jutsu call back!

It’s funny because in the real DOS I also ship Shikako/Sasuke. But you totally pulled it off. Also, poor Shikako is under so much pressure. She totally deserves the weight of Naruto’s “therapy jutsu”. I think that was my favorite scene in this fic.
