Wow what an amazing story!
I like how none of the teachers are "evil" or really "bad" They make dumb chooses, the don't make the right decision but you can see where they are coming from. It's interesting seeing Natsume from their POV because it really looks strange.

Poor Mr. Kobayashi! He should certainly look up exorcists and youkai, and the ability to see youkai. I'm positive that in Natsume's world, someone would have written about the ability to see youkai and how only someone like Natsume could truly see them(I think it has something to do with high spiritual power. Someone would have written a blog or something, detailing how some people could see youkai and how some of these individuals were incredibly powerful spiritually. I think the one to write this would be someone who has known someone like Natsume. Or Natori under a codename.)

I love your writing, but damnit if you aren't tearing at my heartstrings right now. Poor little Natsume had no one back then and you're doing a great job of highlighting that.
